Violet Love

Late this afternoon it began to feel like spring might just be
on it's way.  While it's still pretty chilly out, the sun was
shining brightly and the persistent winds stopped.

It gave me hope!

So I pulled out some of my favorite violet pieces and began to
set a table to reflect my current mood.  Some of these pieces
belonged to my grandmother.

I am so looking forward to the wild violets that appear in my yard
each spring.  So pretty and ...
'

So romantic too don't you think?

I am happily joining ~

Bentley is happy because I kept the kitchen door open for him
to run in and out a bit this afternoon.  He loves that!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  11. How wonderful to have some pretty pieces from your grandmother! Mine had a teacup and saucer with violets that I loved to use to sip coffee that was heavily sugared and creamed. I wish I had that now!

  12. Violets are such a delight! You are fortunate to have pieces that you have inherited. I am always looking at violet china, but I have not bought any. My daughter purchased quite a bit on eBay a couple of years ago, so I might just have to borrow those for a table one of these days!

  20. How pretty! Whenever I see purple things like this I think of both my mom and my 3rd daughter Avalon---both whom love purple! Hope you have a blessed weekend! We are headed to southern Oregon tomorrow for my son, Michael's, state piano recital. Should be a fun day out!
