A Little Over the Top But ...

A little over the top I know, but I am so drawn to this room and
wish I could crawl into the photo and curl up in that cozy
looking chair by the fire with a good book.  Y'all know I have
a crush on Mario Buatta!

Okay girls ~ I have to get back to work.  I am working on my
new herb garden.  I took a short sweet tea break, hopped on my
Mac and started looking at decorating pics.  I think I may be
suffering from ADD!  I know ~ shocking revelation.

  2. That is the sign of a good decorator when you want to move right in. He has it and uses it. Not a bit over the top, actually understated.

    1. I say "over the top" only because design today is tends to be so much cleaner and stripped of detail. My personal decorating style is so reflected in this room. Thanks for visiting me Richard!

    1. I especially want that nicely upholstered ottoman in front of the fire. Of course if I get one like that you know who will decide to make it his personal space. Bentley has the knack for picking out all of the comfy spots.

  4. I would love to have a large ottoman like that and would use it versus the kneeknocker coffee table I have

  5. Tone down the curtains a little and put a more modern painting over the fireplace and I could live there.

  8. I could be comfy in that room! I had the fun of hearing Mario Buatta at the Nashville Antique & Garden Show this year. He is not only a talented decorator, but a entertaining speaker.

  9. I love his style. I still love big floral prints and chintz. Did you get your potting shed?

    1. I was just thinking about that yesterday. No I did not get the potting shed. I was about to get it when Mom died and then I could not even think about it because it was going to be our project together. But now I am ready to get started on it once again. I think I will name it "Dottie's Cottage" because her name was Dorothy.

  10. That room looks like a little piece of England that would totally draw me into the room.

    1. Looks a bit like an English country home to me too. I am a huge fan of chintz and charm.

  11. Beautiful room! I would tone down the drapes a bit - same fabric just not so fancy. My Mom (passed over 23 years ago) was a Dorothy too. She was Dot to everyone. She always made sure you said her name correctly. It was Dor-O-thy. I love that you will go ahead with your potting shed and name it after your Mom. Please do she would like that.

  12. I agree ~ she would like that. Sometimes Mom was called Dottie, but mostly Dorothy.
