Are Birthdays Celebrated in Heaven?

Today would have been my Mom's birthday.  If there is a heaven, I
know that she is there.  Yet, I am wondering, are birthdays
celebrated in heaven?

Do all of the dearly departed gather around to celebrate
with you?  Daddy and my Grandparents?  Mom's sister Mary and
her brother John?

And with her sorority sisters?  That's Mom in the middle
of this group.  She was being honored for something and
that's why there is a flower in her lap.

So what do you think?  Do you think that one's earthly
birthday is celebrated in heaven, or is the day one
arrives to live in eternity celebrated?  I am thinking it is
the latter.

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  2. I believe every day is probably a celebration in heaven. But most of us here find comfort in continuing to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed. So .. here's a big Happy Birthday to your Mom!

  3. To reach heaven would be the epitome of the perfect celebration. Birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, 4th of July, all of them rolled into one enormous eternal celebration! A sobering but delightful thought. I think of you Susan, experiencing the pain of your mother's loss. I too have lost both of my biological parents & a special second mother that God brought into my dad & I's lives when we needed her most. I have been without them many years but holidays can still give me pause. I try very hard now to think of the happy times & so many good memories that I have of them & other family that I have lost. Bless you Susan for sharing your heart & thoughts with us. I hope that it may even bring you some comfort in doing so. Hugs to you dear friend & God bless & Happy New Year too.

  4. I like to think that there are birthdays in heaven, as a matter fact I told my brothers and sisters that our dad was celebrating his 85th birthday in heaven yesterday, with our mom and our nephew Billy. It put a smile on my face and it helped get me through the day!

  5. Susan,
I believe that everyday is a celebration in heaven! We know there's no more tears and no more sorrow, pain has been done away with, so that leaves nothing but good, good, GOOD!! Imagine your mother ever so happy and it will lessen your own pain of missing her so much, that's how I think of my Mom when I miss her. Here's wishing you a beautiful and joy filled new year!

  6. Dear one, I believe there is. My son was 27 when we lost him, March will be four years. It is said we do not age in heaven but many wonder as I how true this may be. Each July 27th we have a cake for my son on his day and either light votives in the year of his day or balloons skyward. The votives we make in the shape of a heart and leave burning till the last one goes out. We will always celebrate the day Mikie was born and blessed our lives. Have a blessed New Year full of love and memories of your dear Mom. Lori
