Crazy Dreams

I have always had very crazy and outlandish dreams.  Often they are so
entertaining that I don't want them to end.  Sometimes they can be
prophetic too.  More about that in another post.  For today I want
to share a crazy one with you.

I understand the purpose of dreams.  It gives the mind a chance to work
out little difficulties in life.  They can be topical too.  Last night David
and I were sitting on the back porch planning a couple of upcoming
trips we have been thinking about.  We made our decisions and then
headed off to bed.

During the night, Bentley woke me up because he wanted to get under
the covers.   I got him settled and went back to sleep.  Suddenly I was
pulling out a duffle bag and stuffing clothes into it.  And I do mean
stuffing.  T-shirts and shorts and dresses were just being wadded up and
crammed into the bag without any regard to wrinkling.  Where was I
headed?  To London to visit friends I had not seen in a long time.

In my dream it was 9:30 am and while my plane to London was due
to leave at 10:30 am, I was still packing my bags.  Then I looked down
at my chipped manicure and pedicure and decided I needed to do
something about that before I left home.  I went into the bathroom and
grabbed the nail polish remover, and started filling the tub to soak
my feet before I started polishing my toe nails.  David comes into
the room and sees me removing my polish and says

Do you really think you have the time to do that right now?

I was not at all concerned about the time until he mentioned it.
Suddenly I grabbed my poorly packed bags while running out
of the house with those little toe separators between my toes
after my hastily finished pedicure.  Of course I could not wear
any shoes because the polish wasn't dry yet.  I knew it would
not matter because I would have to take my shoes off going
through security anyway.

I looked at the clock.  It was now 9:45 am.  It didn't seem
to occur to me that we would not be able to make a
10:30 am flight when we still had a two hour drive to
Houston to arrive at the airport.  My only concern was that
David was to be careful about hitting any potholes on our
mad dash since I was busily finishing my manicure.

Where was Bentley?  He was already in his little carrier
waiting to board the plane with me.  Did it matter to me
that he would have to be quarantined for four months when
we arrived because that's the policy for dogs entering England?
No of course not.  I had already instructed Bentley on the
necessity of being charming when we hit customs in the UK.
I knew he could pull it off :-)

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  1. Love your post and new to your blog! I'm loving all of your soft colors that you show in your photos... so will need to take a trip through and around and about your blog to look at all of your other wonderful things and home. Dreams really CAN be nutty and crazy.. I seem to have mine in the early morning hours.. and sometimes they are so good I don't want to wake up! Other times they make no sense whatsoever... guess they keep life interesting!

  3. Oh Susan,
I have had dreams, good and bad as well as those that make no sense whatsoever for years Have often wondered if they have anything to do with medications and yes, I've jumbled those around to find out. Sometimes I wonder what it's like to have a night's 'rest'.

    1. I am not on any medications. Probably good that I am not because who knows how much crazier my dreams might be :-)
