The Best of Autumn

Autumn is such a lovely season with it's golden hues, warm sunny afternoons
and crisp cool evenings.

It's nature's last hurrah before the cold and often gray days of winter begin.

It's a time when we all begin making our nests cozy.

When the simplicity of a lone pumpkin fills us with awe.

Charming cottages in the Texas Hill Country ~ so friendly and
welcoming.

A plant sale at a pretty little garden shop in Goliad.
Just look at those beautiful mums!

Brightly colored gourds and squash are at farm markets everywhere.

And crisp apples for pies or crumbles or sliced up with some
wedges of cheddar cheese.

When branches with brightly colored berries fill little jars and vases.

I just want to hang on tightly to every glorious moment.

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  2. Yes indeed! We Texans just have to use our imaginations ;-)

  3. Good Afternoon Susan, It is lovely to catch up with you again. Here in the north of England, the leaves are beginning to fall from the trees and there certainly is a crispness in the air..... Autumn has certainly arrived here in my part of the world.
I love your Mason's Danish tea cup and saucer..... I have a dinner service which I use daily..... it is such a lovely design.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
    Best Wishes

  4. Isn't it wonderful! We do have to use a little imagination here in Texas but at least it's not the 100+ we had a few weeks ago. We actually have pumpkins in my grocery store this morning!! :)

Your pictures are so pretty, as always. You have such an artistic touch with your blog posts.

    1. I hope they have pumpkins in my HEB this weekend. If I feel up to it (getting over this virus) I hope to go over to my favorite garden spot too. I have one mum plant, but want a couple more. Has it rained much in your area? We have short downpours frequently, so the humidity level is still soaring :-( Thanks for the kind words about my blog.

  5. Susan,
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comment!! I love this post and all it's Fall Goodness!! Fall is my favorite time of year here and i am anxiously awaiting the turning of the leaves for the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Pa. Fall Foliage!!
As to your question on where I store everything...Here is a link to a post I did about my Christmas decorations. Outside things are stored in our Storage Shed that we rent and holiday things are up in the attic which is floored...

  6. Great pictures Susan - the mums are really pretty. So sorry that you have a virus, sometimes they are hard to kick. Fall is my favorite time of the year. The only bad thing in So CA is that we don't have the beautiful leaves.
Feel better and have a great weekend.

  8. Ah it's so pretty in your part of the world...did you say that it was really hot there? I do hope that it cools down substantially and soon!

Now your post has reminded me that I must go out and water my Mum or it's going to be dried up and awful....lol.
