Our 4th of July Weekend Update

David and Bentley and I went to our favorite place in Austin
for the long 4th of July weekend.  We were at Barton Creek Resort.
It's our third Independence Day trip and our 5th visit in total.  We
even stay in the same room every time.  It's comfortable, beautiful,
David can play golf, I can sit out by the pool and Bentley gets lots
of attention.  He can even go out by the pool with me.  The three of
us have a great time!

David's sister, Cindy and her husband have a home in Lago Vista,
which is not too far from Austin.  We went out on their boat Saturday
evening to see the fireworks over Lago Vista.  It was beautiful!  There
were lots of great boats on the lake and party barges too.  We all
had a fun time.

David went out to play golf on Sunday.  I don't know how he did it
because the temps were hovering around 100 degrees all day.   Bentley
and I went out to the pool for a while but didn't stay too long.  It
was cool and relaxing up in our room, so we went back up so that I
could read and Bentley could nap.

The resort had their fireworks display on Sunday night.  It was spectacular as
usual and we could view the whole show right from our balcony.  We always
order room service and avoid the crowds.

Bentley is not bothered by the fireworks.  He went out on the balcony with
us for a while, and then decided to go back to bed and take a nap.  He's
so mellow.

Of course, he was wide awake for room service!

We had a wonderful weekend, but I must admit that it's good
to be home today.  We were out of town two weekends in a row
and as fun as they were, there is still no place like home.

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  1. So glad you three had a great weekend. Can't believe Bentley doesn't mind the fireworks. Bella just growls at them. Luckily, in Tulsa, you have to have a permit to shot them off in the neighborhoods or you risk a ticket. So, there weren't a lot of ones going off other than the big ones down on the river. And they were quite far away. We could still hear the booms tho.

  3. I love watching fireworks on a lake. So fun. I can't believe Bentley isn't scared of the fireworks. Dixie was hiding in the bathroom.
I'm glad it was a great weekend.

  5. Your weekend sounds great to me. I'm all for staying inside where it is cool. Yes, the temps were 100 and the heat index was much higher. ;-) Glad Bentley gets to travel with you.
