I love Cream of Wheat. In fact I love it so much that I even purchased a vintage advertisement of the cereal. So for this Vintage Thingie Thursday, I am joining Suzanne at her lovely blog The Colorado Lady to show off my vintage ad and to tell you about the cereal I love.
Cream of Wheat was invented in 1893 by some wheat millers in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It was introduced to the public at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893 in Chicago, Illinois, my hometown. Is it any wonder I love this cereal so much???
Make yourself a warm comforting bowl of Cream of Wheat. It will fill your tummy with it's comforting goodness and you will be honoring a vintage cereal!! Mmmm, mmm good!! And ... Bentley likes it too!!
Love,
Susan and Bentley

I love that ad. But then again, I love old graphics.
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves Cream of Wheat. Can't say I've ever felt the same way, but he's originally from Chicago so maybe this explains it. :) Love your graphics.
ReplyDeleteI love the retro advertisments!! I don't really know what Cream of Wheat is, we don't have it here!!

Love to eat Cream of Wheat and Oatmeal. Your vintage add is too cute. Somewhere I have some old adds that I was going to frame. I need to find them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you stopped by for a visit to HFTS because it brought me over to Ash Tree Cottage. Thanks! ~ Sarah
I have tried Cream of Wheat but can't get past the texture in my mouth! I don't care for grits either! Shocking coming from a southern girl! My parents used to make us eat grits for breakfast and anything they made us eat,I don't eat today.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved this ad...and I love the Cream of Wheat too...with brown sugar! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've had a bowl of Cream of Wheat in forever! I can't even remember what it tastes like, but I bet it's really filling!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
Carol

ReplyDeleteVery nice ad. I like cream of wheat too but not as much as you do. Can't believe it has been around that long.
ReplyDeleteI used to love cream of wheat and now I have to be gluten free.....so I can eat cream of rice which I love . HOWEVER none of the stores in my town carry it....I have to travel a bit to get it!
