The temperature has dropped, the sky is gray and rain is in the forecast. Nothing like a hot bowl of soup to warm up your tummy on a cool and rainy day, especially if it's in tomato red!
Let's add some fresh milk to make the tomato soup extra creamy. I'll just scrape the sides of the can with this red spatula. I love that we have a local dairy that puts their milk in glass bottles!
Put that hot tomato soup in a thermos and add it to the red oil cloth lunch bag, or serve it in a bowl on top a red crocheted pot holder. Either way, it brings some warm red into the day! Sue always has sunny weather because It's A Very Cherry World over at her cottage. Be sure to pay her a visit.
What's that Bentley? Another health tip? Tomatoes have lycopene. I thought you stayed in the pink by eating Wee Bits from a pink bag, but you need tomatoes too??

Ahh- tomato red! My mom used to have Campbell's soup label soup bowls. Looked a lot like your thermos. I think my brother has them now. Hope you enjoy your tasty treat.

I still remember the first time I had tomato soup. I was in Grade Six..i was totally hooked. The only way I love it is with the milk also..no water,,the milk I find just makes it so yummy creamy!!
ReplyDeleteYou know this is strange but I don't typically like fresh tomatoes but I LOVE tomato soup! I have never added milk to mine though..I've gotta try it. They have the BEST tomato basil soup at my favorite teahouse, Myrtles. That's one thing I'd like to try...a tomato basil soup so if you have a good recipe for one I'd love to have it! :))
