Remedies for the Flu

I started to feel ill yesterday afternoon.
By the time I got home there was no doubt in my mind ...
I had the flu!

What are the remedies for the flu?
David picked up some Won Ton soup from our
local Chinese restaurant. It doesn't cure the flu
but I felt better temporarily.

Lots of cups of hot tea with lemon and honey.
Works for a while, but I still feel sick.

Old movies.
I have been in bed watching ...
Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House ~
I think about decorating and home construction
even when I am sick.
Mildred Pierce
You've Got Mail ~ how many times have I watched
that movie???

But my favorite remedy is Bentley!
He stares very closely at my face
Gives me four or five kisses on my cheek
and then cuddles up very close.
Works every time!!

Bentley ~ are you prepared to do some quest blogging
until Momma gets better?

Love,
Susan and Bentley

  1. Awww, Susan. I feel for you. I hate the flu. We are in a full fledged ice storm now. Dan is staying in Mattoon tonight and I have been preparing in case the power goes out. I have a big blanket hanging from the open staircase to shut it off incase the babies and I have to bed down in front of the fireplace tonight. It has been icing all day. Yikes!
    Bentley, take care of Momma.

  5. I'm sorry you don't feel well. The flu is a virus, and you have to let it run its course. Have you taken Tamiflu? Hubby says you can catch in in the first 48 hours.

  10. Get well soon! Remember, though - Bentley can catch certain things from you so try not to breath right in his face.

My very first Yorkie and I passed tonsillitis back and forth until we both had to have our tonsils out.

  11. Susan,
Hope you get to feeling better soon. I was sick for about 2 weeks with a cold. I ate plenty of chicken noodle soup and drank hot lemon zinger tea with honey. Bentley you take care of mommy and snuggle close and give her plenty of love. It's good she has a warm and fuzzy friend like you.
