School is starting next Monday in our area.
Wow ~ hard to believe isn't it? So here is a little tablescape
to get everyone in the school days mood.
I am fondly remembering back to those happy school days
when I wanted to be teacher's pet.

Bentley loves the kids in our neighborhood and will be out
at the front gate saying hi to them as they walk past our cottage
on their way to Longfellow Elementary.

Susan and Bentley
What a fun vignette. I'm pulling out vintage school items to make a new blog banner later this weekend. I'm still in denial about summer ending.
ReplyDeleteI believe that at one time every girl in America had that red plaid lunchbox. I know I did!
ReplyDelete"School days, School days, dear old Golden Rule days....."
Awww. Love Mary Englebreight and the mix with vintage is just perfection. A+
ReplyDeleteI love these!! They are so precious. I love the puppy cup and saucer!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely darling. I remember last year I think you had a real cute back to school vignette I just adored too.
ReplyDeleteAhh, the good old days! Remember when a teacher stepped out of the room (probably to use the rest room) and left the teacher's pet in charge . . . today the teacher would be arrested!
ReplyDeleteBentley will surely enjoy himself immensely with all the activity.

Love, love, love this Susan! Thanks! I'm consumed with preparations for this school year this week! Finished my curriculum writing this afternoon and now for the physical prep - Back in the classroom next week, too! Love this nostalgic school daze tablescape!
ReplyDeleteHugs to Bentley!
Joy!

Susan, this is a darling post! I wish I still had my red plaid lunch box. I keep hopping that one day I'll find one in a thrift or antique shop. Your little doggy items are cute too, and you know I love the ME tin. Even though I'm now retired, I always have fond memories of starting back to school.
ReplyDeleteDelightful as usual Susan! Kiss Bentley for me.
ReplyDeleteI never had a pretty lunch box like this when I was starting to school. Had a paper sack tho and it served me well.
ReplyDeleteMilo would be terrorizing everyone that walked by!!
ReplyDeleteLove the little vignette!

Jane
Mmmm...the smell of a box of new Crayola Crayons on the first day of school!
ReplyDeleteENAMORED OF RED
Enamored of red
I lie in my bed,
Dreaming of cherry-filled crèmes;
For red’s a fine shade,
The prettiest made,
And gives me the sweetest of dreams.

The start of a new school year always felt like a new beginning, and the smell of freshly sharpened pencils! Love the doggie pillow, did you make it or is it vintage? - Lana www.lifeatwildberrycottage.com
ReplyDeleteLove the plaid lunchbox! I haven't seen one of those in years!!! Do they still make lunchboxes? My child is "old" (33), so I don't pay much attention. Did you see the movie "You've Got Mail"? Remember when Joe Fox writes to Kathleen, "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address." That's the way this tablescape makes me feel! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove this vignette! It's hard to believe it's already that time, again! :)
ReplyDeleteYou always do such a good job with these tablescapes - inspirational for sure!
Listen, I have a new series on my blog called: "A Picture is Worth ..." I'm trying to get back to posting pictures about my house, and I'd love it if you'd come by and see the bar in the dining room! :)

What a sweet post! Love the vintage doggies linens, a really special find! My favorite thing in the world as a kid was new crayons! I recently bought myself a new box. If you get a chance please stop by our teatime giveaway, the Mom from Cottage and Broome
