I made a little lamp to sit on my child~size hutch.
Just call me the queen of the little lamps. Can never get
enough of them :-)
I love to challenge myself by using whatever I have on hand
to create something. This time it was a little candle stick lamp.
I used a soup can that I painted and covered with paper, some
ribbons and buttons and there you have it. A new little lamp.
I added this vintage doll quilt I found at an antique shop recently.
When I bought it, I was not quite sure what to do with it, but
I thought it was so sweet. I put it in a drawer and that was that.
Now it has a home.
One of our carpenters built this crate for me. I painted it
and decoupaged a graphic from The Graphics Fairy. Now I
am using it to store inspirational books and magazines for
easy reference.
I have lots more projects in store for my studio. I want to make
a slipcover for a salvaged office desk which is currently very ugly.
I am adding a skirt to a seven foot trestle desk and more and more.
I will keep adding pics as I go along and then I am thinking I will
make a video of the completed project. Maybe Bentley should host
the film. He knows all about what I am doing because he has been
with me every step of the way!
Happily joining ~
When we film the studio Bentley, be sure to show off your
bed and toys too!
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
How creative!! Your little lamp is just darling. Doesn't it make you feel good to make something cute with stuff you already have?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying real hard this new year to use up alot of what I have. (And I do have alot)

Hubs took me out to lunch at Applebees and I knew I wouldn't be first, sugar, but I'm glad it's a sister Idahoan who is. LOL. I'd love to see your office. And I do the same thing with lamps—buy new shades and froufrou them up. They are darling when I finish.

ReplyDeleteI love how you enbellished the lampshade. All your pink touches are so perfect for your room. I too have always loved the graphic on your crate. It's been saved on my computer, waiting for the perfect thing for me to put it on. Wish I could hop over to your house and get creative in your pretty "new" room! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty lamp! The buttons are super cute! HPS!

Great idea for a lamp. Do you wire them yourself? I wish I had a craft room but no room for me. I make do but one can wish. All of your plans sound wonderful.

Ooooh more cuteness and inspiration - I glance around my "office" and wonder can I ? Will I? Sure enough have the inspiration . . . thanks. Happy Pink Saturday! Jenn

I love to challenge myself to use different things. Love your lamp and the decoupaged box too.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your finished studio! Your lamp is so cute; I would never have thought to use a soup can for a shade -- very creative. My favorite things are the pink and white polka dot trim on the lampshade and the button embellishments. Great job!
Visiting from Seasonal Sundays; I hope you and Bentley have a great weekend!

That little lamp is very inspiring! I think that I have some things around my house to put one together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea & Happy Pink Saturday to you and Bentley!

Your little lamp is such a cute idea and it looks like you found the perfect place for the doll quilt. I laughed when I read how Bentley followed and watched everything you did. Do you think he wanted the doll quilt for a little nest of his own? My little pom, Fuzzy, follows and watches everything I do around here, too. Anytime I am making or painting anything, his eyes are following every move. Apparently, he finds me fascinating (or that somehow food is going to be the outcome).
ReplyDeleteThe little doll quilt is precious! I am so in love with all of your special touches! I'm trying to figure out if I have enough things to make a shelf of sweet things!
ReplyDeleteThat is very cute! Trying to catch up with Pink Saturday entries.
