The Dollhouse Builder

This is my second dollhouse kit.  I have yet to put the first one together, but when
I saw this kit on sale I knew I wanted to snatch it up.  The finished kit for this
house is smaller than my other kit, so I thought it might be easier to start with
this floor plan before I go onto the bigger one.  Don't you just love my logic???

My kit arrived today and I could hardly wait to open the box.  It comes with a
detailed set of instructions which often use the words DO NOT and DON'T.

I think I will sit down in the area of our family room we fondly refer to as
"the library" and have a cup of tea while I read these ominous sounding
instructions ;-)

As I start reading the first words I notice in large bold letters are

DON'T PANIC

Perhaps I should bake some cookies for David to butter him up
and sweet talk him into helping me construct this little cottage.
And maybe I should have something a bit stronger than tea!

I hope you will follow me along with this construction process.
I promise to keep all expletives clean ;-)

And note to Bentley, if mama gets good at this I will build
you a mini dog house!

Susan and Bentley

  1. Everytime I see you post about your miniatures I say "Dang, I STILL have never blogged about my houses!"

There never quite seems to be enough time, energy or strength to do it.

I can't wait for this one, I have a Victorian one kinda similar that has been neglected. Maybe over winter I will give it the love it truly deserves.

    Have a great weekend. Hugs.

  6. That happens to me too I have great plans but when you realise the work involved and sometimes the instructions are more confusing than instructive but now you have put it on your blog you will have to finish it or we will wonder what happened to it don't worry it will be fun.

  7. Susan - WOULD YOU BELIEVE????? I just got the same dollhouse kit! I decided to start with a smaller one and see how I did with it before progressing to a larger one. (I kinda have a feeling that if I ever get this one done, I'll probbly not do another one!) It will be interesting to compare our look-alike dollhouses. I know you will probably have yours done before I ever even think about starting mine. I decided this would be a good winter project!!

  9. That's exciting! I've been hoping you would show some dollhouse stuff at your new place. I don't know if you looked at my last post, but I showed my Victorian bedroom set that I made from a kit and I showed my house, if you are interested come on over for a visit. I would love to have you.
    Have a great weekend,
    Gina

  11. I can't wait to see you house. We bought one many years ago when my daughter was a little girl. We never put it together either :-( And now she is a grown woman! I think it will be fun to build this one with you virtually.
