A Visit to Devereux Gardens

This afternoon we drove to the charming town of Goliad where we had lunch,
visited a few shops and stopped by Devereux Gardens to pick up some
fall color for the front porch.

This charming garden center is supported by the
Devereux Foundation and you can read more about their effort to
provide training and to bring dignity into the lives of those
with developmental disabilities.

Although it is still very hot and humid and we are still wearing
shorts and flip flops, we are so attracted to the beautiful fall
colors of the mums and Gerber daisies.

Such a charming porch!

Goliad is a lovely historic town and I will share more pics in
another post.  Until then, I feel a nap coming on!

Bentley likes to nap in the afternoon too.  The heat just
wears us out!

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  3. I love this house & porch. Makes me want to re-paint my house a cheery yellow. Did you get more pictures of other areas ? Also, what a wonderful way to offer work skills & training . Who wouldn't benefit from working outdoors, planting, weeding, harvesting ? Skills that are always useful and also inspire a sense of value and usefulness.

  4. What a charming porch. I love the Adirondack style chair and the fountain against the beautiful yellow clapboards. Mums do put one in the mood for fall.

  7. There is a place much like this near Brenham, TX, and it is a favorite place to spend time. What a difference it makes to see things so beautifully presented.
