Which Dollhouse Miniature Stove Should I Choose?

source

I am collecting more elements for my dollhouse.  I plan on a cottage style
decor throughout.  The first floor of the dollhouse there will be a kitchen
and a sitting area.  I will be decorating with a color palette of pinks and greens.
I am trying to decide which style of stove I want for the kitchen and would
love your input.  I have narrowed it down to two styles ~ the 1920's style
Roper stove, or the Aga.  Look at this one all decorated in a country style.

Both have charm.

With the Aga, I can envision the cottage being tucked away in the Costwolds.
This is Cynthia's Aga in of of her many charming dollhouse designs.

And here it is again.

Here is Claudia's Aga.  I love it in her sweet cottage mini kitchen.
Love that wallpaper too!   Stop by and visit her today because she has
another wonderful feature from her dollhouse.

So which one do you think will be the right one for me?  I have two
different dollhouses to construct, and maybe I should get one of each
eventually.  But for now my budget only can afford one, so I do
need to choose.

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  1. It's easy to see why you're stuck in a decision....:-) I do love the Aga but for a cottage I think I'd choose the white Roper. This style has always enchanted me. My Nana had one. Remember the old tv show "Family"? She had one of these in her beautiful Pasadena kitchen. All those itty bitty treasures you can put on the shelves......

    1. Oh I do indeed remember that show! In fact, last year I checked out the DVD from the library just so I could see that kitchen again and I still love it!

  2. I think they are both darling, Susan. My top vote goes to the Roper. Love the little shelves where you can display more details. It will be fun following along on the progress of the house. ;-)

    1. I am leaning that way too Sarah and I agree about all the design potential with those little shelves.

  6. Of course you know I love the Aga, but that Roper is awfully charming, Susan. I can see stacks of mixing bowls and pots and pans - it would also be something you don't see as often as the Aga.

    1. Since I already have a Viking for my own kitchen, if I ever buy an Aga it will have to be for a second home.

    1. I have no control over the ads that Google places. I am shocked and angered by the vulgarity of this ad and am letting Google know about it. I am not sure when these ads began, but when I signed up for ads I had the opportunity to refuse certain types of advertising. How this slipped under the radar I do not know. Unfortunately, I am not the only blog that this ad has shown up on.

  15. Both stoves are adorable, but the Roper has an advantage; there's much more display space for accessories.

  16. The Roper is my choice. We had one very similar, when I was a child. Memories...

  17. The aga would be my choice mainly because I used to have one in my old cottage. Xx

    1. Oh my Chel, you were lucky! Did you have the kind of Aga that is always "on"? To me an Aga exemplifies "cottage".

  18. Hi Susan,
I think I'd pick the Aga, but both are adorable. I'm so jealous of all you doll house owners, they look like so much fun!
Enjoy, can't wait to see it (them!)
    Hugs to you and Bentley,

  20. I would want them both too. It's been my dream to have a doll house but the cute little accessories sure are expensive, aren't they? But what fun to find the perfect 'look' for each house. I'll have fun watching you play....I'll play along, too! Sweet hugs!

  21. Hello dear Susan
It's been such a long time since I've visited and I can see I'm missing out - I will have to go back some to see your dolls house now!
Oh I would choose the Aga - it typifies an old English cottage for me.
I love the Cotswolds too and stayed there on one of my trips to beautiful England.
    Love to Bentley and you.

  22. Love them all. I think the first one has more of a farmhouse flavor. The Aga is just, just...Lovely. The gas, I wish I had a real one of those. So very 30s I think.
