Tea in My Dressing Room

When I first saw this house with our realtor last year, one of the things I loved
about it was the little dressing room you must pass through on the way to the
master bath.  There is a built in dressing table with a mirror and narrow
windows flanking each side.  Directly across is a full length mirror so I
can check out my clothes before I walk out the door.  It's a very feminine
space and a spot to relax with a cup of tea as I get ready in the morning
to greet the day.

My favorite teapot and tea cup.  My Mom and Daddy brought this
tea cup back with them for me when they visited Victoria, BC.  It's
right at home in this house in Victoria, Texas  It seems predestined
somehow.

My perfumes are here along with make-up in the drawers.

Two of my favorite Staffordshire style dogs sit in front of the mirror.

A sweet little dish from Herend.  There is a little picture of Bitterman,
my first Yorkie.

It's a dreamy spot with a very vintage feel.

Thanks for visiting me here this morning.  Have a wonderful day!

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

    1. Those dogs are so sweet. They are meant to look vintage, but in reality are not. I don't remember seeing any with the floral pattern before. Thanks for stopping by Fabby!

  2. A sweet space indeed, and how civilized to have tea there. That is giving yourself a bit of pampering before getting on with the day.

    1. I try to grab a bit of self pampering any time I can. It's the little pleasures in life that I love. Then it's onto reality. Great hearing from you Lulu!

  3. Anyone who has a dressing room should have tea in there often - hope the butler or maid did the serving!!! What a fun space and you have it decorated with such femininity! Your dogs are fabulous! I know some little ones who would be fascinated with the whole space!

    1. Thank you Kim. I am indeed a blessed woman because I am blessed to have a loving husband, a cute dog, dear friends and a beloved extended family. Oh and good health too. The pretty things we have are just things. The real substance in life is love.

  6. Your dressing room sounds enchanting, Susan! I love your china dogs and the teapot from Victoria is a beauty. It goes well with your beautiful teacup. Lovely post; very girly, just the way I like it. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely weekend.

    1. I have been wearing Lauren for years and years. It is the scent I wore when I met my husband. He just associates that scent with me. I also like Coco Mademoiselle. That fragrance I wear just for me.

    1. Those Staffordshire style dogs are cute. The first ones I have seen with a pink and green floral pattern. They are not vintage, nor were they expensive but I love them. Thanks for your visit Kathleen!

    1. My house is an old one ~ built in 1948 and it's in a small city of about 65,000. There are so many nice homes here, especially in my neighborhood. All of them are different and many of them were designed by the owners themselves, as was mine. All of them have distinct and wonderful little touches. From what I know, the original owner must have loved her dressing room because she made it quite lovely. The house was in the same family for 65 years. We are the second owner. Everyone I meet here knows my house. It was on the historic home tour last year.

  11. O, what a pretty dressing area..we moved a few months ago...almost a year, actually, and, for the first time in my looong life, I, too, have a dressing room. I haven't blogged too much about it yet...but, I will. I've just done bits and pieces in posts but I was working on it, getting it all pretty and ....I just LOVE it.
Your dressing tabletops are so pretty...love the dogs.
