Amazingly Cheap Makeover

We have a breakfast bar in our kitchen that separates the kitchen
from the breakfast room.  When we bought the house, the previous
owners left a counter height stool behind.  While we appreciated the
handy stool with the swivel seat, it was not my style.  The wood was
a dark walnut stain and the seat was covered in a black vinyl.

Not me at all!

But a stool is always handy in a kitchen, so I decided to give it a little
facelift to better match my country farmhouse kitchen style.

I already had some white paint at home.  Of course I do!  What blogger
does not have a can or two of white paint around :-)  But I also wanted to
change out that black vinyl seat for something lighter and more fun.

I happened to be at Hobby Lobby and spotted a couple of kitchen towels
for sale a few weeks ago.  I want to say they were either 50% off or 60%
off, can't remember.  What  I do remember is thinking that the heavy
woven towel might make a perfect seat cover ~ and I think it does.
The whole makeover was about $3.00.  Amazing don't you think?

So that's it for an amazingly cheap makeover.  Be sure to stop by and
see us tomorrow.  Bentley and I will be in the kitchen sharing a
recipe that you are sure to love!  See y'all then!!

Okay Bentley ~ let's give our readers one little hint about
tomorrow's recipe ~ it has something to do with chicken :-)

  3. I still amazes me what so many of you bloggers can do with a little nothing. When they handed creative juice they forgot me.

  4. What a cute idea! I have that same towel hanging on my oven. In fact, you and I have several of the same things in the kitchen.

  7. Perfect seat cover. Love your colors and cozy feel in the kitchen. I recently used dish towels to make café curtains....$6 for the whole thing!
