Gratitude

I have decided not to wait until the new year to make a resolution.
My life has taken a different turn recently and it's a very good one.
In the morning I like to wake up and thank God for all my many
blessings.  I have been faithful about doing this recently and it's
made a huge difference in my life.

I just take the time to say thank you and each day I have been feeling
a flood of peace, calm and contentment.

Too often we (myself included) fuss over little issues that just are not
important.  I don't know why, but we do.

Certainly gratitude is not a new idea, yet it's one that up until recently I neglected
to do.  Now I cannot imagine starting my day without thanking God for
His many blessings.

No matter what is lacking in your life, focus on what you have.

Carry that feeling of peace with you all day long and remember to
share it with others.

Wishing you peace and happiness today and always.

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  3. I AGREE with you 100% ,Susan. When we are grateful and acknowledge our gratitude towards God, then it helps us to regain our sense of WHO IS really in charge of our lives, as well as who it is that we will ultimately answer to. Our admonition in the Bible is to "Let the Peace of God Rule in your hearts .... and Be ye Thankful!"
So Thank you for reminding us of just how important practicing gratitude- IS! :D

  4. What a wonderful and timely post.
I really needed to read this.
Peaceful is not how I have been feeling lately, but I know what it is like to feel that way.

I wish you every single blessing this Christmas represents.

Aren't we blessed? Yes, we are.

    1. I think it's easy to feel stressed in the world we live in. There are outside pressures and the pressures we impose upon ourselves. The minute I have a little chat with God in the morning and let Him know that I appreciate all He has given me, all those external and internal pressures melt away. I am glad if this helps you dear friend.

  5. So true Susan. I have been focusing on the blessing I have and not on what I don't have or need. With my husband struggling to find employment these past 10 months it is hard some days to feel blessed with the stress of no income. However when you let go and know God has a plan it just gives you such peace. Sometimes you just have to feel good about each day and take it one day at a time. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

  9. Susan, to focus on the positive things in life - and the blessing of life itself - is what God wants us to do. I listen to Pastor Joel Ostein now and then and he had a great message the other day and it was to take control over your life, own it - claim it. I am glad that you start your day out on a positive note. Sour grapes can take poison our spirit. God provides..and he loves for us to notice and be grateful.

On another note, I am so enjoying the photos of your beautiful home. It is amazing!!

  12. Gratitude is a good word/thought to keep in our minds. We forget how much we really do have. I wake up and read from Joyce Meyers daily thoughts and now will include what I am grateful for! Thanks for the inspiration and wondering what you good news is?
