Sometimes life just becomes too scary. The coming election has me
worried. There is truly nothing I can do but vote and pray. I will just
have to live with the results if they are not of my choosing.
And sometimes, life brings disappointments. Things don't always work
out how one hopes or plans. I know that feeling of disappointment too.
We all do.
Or sometimes things happen that make me feel sad.
I can manage these times because I slip into my own little world. I have
a cocoon that is safe and warm and friendly and it is filled with things that
I love.
It does not matter to me if others don't like the way I have decorated my
little world, because they don't live here ~ I do.
I fill my nooks and crannies with reminders that someone loves me,
and bring coziness into every room.
It's my own little world and I get to share it with the husband I love
and our sweet little dog Bentley. All of life's worries and problems
can just stay outside because inside we are happy and content. I hope
you find comfort in your own little world too.
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Thanks, Susan.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. It's going to turn out just fine. Even better than fine.
I hope so!
DeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteI knew I was going to love this as soon as I saw the title. Your words and pictures were so calming. I can relate and right now I'm taking a break from all things political and enjoying Hallmark Christmas movies. It may seem too early to some but this year I think their timing is perfect.

I always watch the Hallmark Christmas movies! When it's not the holiday season, I watch all of their mysteries too. It's the happy station :-)
DeleteYour little world sounds like mine, a cozy nest to feel safe from all that worries me out my front door. I happen to like your world, it's always lovely.............
ReplyDeleteThank you. Too bad you don't live next door so we could hop from nest to nest.
DeleteYour home is lovely, Susan...we should all feel like our home is our safe, cozy respite from the world!
ReplyDeleteYes, we should all live in snug little nests!
DeleteWhat a beautiful message, Susan. I wonder how many people truly feel that way in their own homes. I love that you know that you are loved and protected in your little corner of the world. It is sure something I wish for my kids and grandkids, too. God bless you- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI wish that for you, your children and grands too.
DeleteI lobe my things and the way is my home too.. And I dont care either what anyone thinks either... Happy weekend with love Janice
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetie Janice. I am sending you a hug!
DeleteMy home is my safe place also. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGood Linda! You have a safe haven filled with love!!
DeleteHumble tho it may be, my home is my cozy place...I've learned to keep only things that are useful and beautiful. (Paraphrasing William Morris...) Have a lovely weekend...xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love and adhere to that William Morris quote!
DeleteYou are very fortunate. It's nice to visit your world for a moment. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome to visit any time you like. We live in a feet on the coffee table kind of home!
DeleteI completely relate. I go into my pink and white library and enjoy all my treasures with my yorkie, Dixie. Heaven!
ReplyDeleteOur Yorkies make our homes even cozier. In fact, my house would be an empty shell without the antics of my special boy. I imagine it's the same for you :-)
DeleteBless your heart Susan. Sometimes we need to retreat and gather our thoughts quietly and peacefully, then a message will come through via post/email/phone and we realise that someone does care about us and we pick ourselves up again. It is a anxious time at the moment for you all, but this time next week the world will be a different place but moving on. Sending positive thoughts across the pond xx
ReplyDeleteYou have said so eloquently what many of us feel. I think a lot of us have been nesting, turning off the TV, watching entertaining shows and movies, reading, cooking -- anything to divert our attention from whatever happens Tuesday.
