I Bought Myself a Valentine's Day Present

I ordered this gift for myself a few weeks ago.  Actually, it's not really
my Valentine's Day gift, it's just that I am calling it my gift to myself.

This darling package is from Tiny Dwelling Miniatures.  Let's open it up!

The excitement builds ....

It's a lovely vintage looking farmhouse sink that I purchased for the
English Country Cottage style dollhouse kitchen I am constructing.

This is so charming, and I would love a life size one too!

I purchased the little drainboard with dishes drying on it.  So sweet!
The shop where I purchased this ensemble is TinyDwelling.etsy.com.

Now I am off to go play ;-)

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

    1. I am touched by your kind compliment! I have such fun working on these rooms. After years of having others for clients, I much prefer being my own decorating client and working on these little rooms brings me so much joy.

  2. oh that is the sweetest! I love all of your posts... both the ones of your home and your miniature homes! Such cozy spots... both of them! Can you tell me... how do you get started on miniatures? What would you suggest for a beginner? Do you set up a scene on a tray or in a cupboard?

    1. I started collecting miniatures years ago after my Mom found three little miniatures for me at a tag sale. At the time, I was very involved in horses and that is all I thought about. I took up the hobby about six years ago and my inspiration was my dear friend Cynthia's Summer Rose Cottage. Cynthia is the author of Cynthia's Cottage Design blog. She does not blog much anymore, but is very active on Facebook. Our friendship has continued and she continues to amaze me with her talent for creating with miniatures. If you are starting out, I would suggest that you try recreating a room that you like from a photo and doing it in miniature. You could do a scene on a tray or in a cupboard. My only warning to you is that it is an addictive hobby and can get expensive, so you will have to bargain hunt just as you would for your own home. Good luck and please contact me if you have any questions!

  4. This is phenomenal! You are killing me with the cuteness year. How interesting that you just got this, I have been thinking about adding to my Sherlock Holmes room, greatly inspired by re-watching the Jeremy Brett series on BritBox. This is a great piece, and I am looking forward to seeing it in your new country kitchen.
