Pink Vintage Goodies!

Yes, I'm still browsing around the antique store. I just had to share a few pink vintage goodies with you. Here is a charming little dish with a lovely single pink rose.

A sweet vintage bridge set. For those of you who don't play bridge, just think of it as a lovely pink and white cloth with four cute napkins.

I believe that these little boxes were once given as birthday gifts and were later used to store hankies. Is that right??

Finally, just some random cute pink accents. That's it for this Pink Saturday. Beverly has so many participants that you are sure to find something that will tickle you pink! That's a bit corny I know, but I'm working on my delivery!! Head on over to visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for some pink frivolity!!

What do you think Bentley?? Was that any better or do I still sound corny?? Bentley??
I think I put him to sleep.

Antiques in Hyde Park

I love to go shopping for antiques in our historic Hyde Park shopping District. Blue Moon Antiques is one of my favorite shops. Such a lovely old Victorian home. Want to come inside with me??

Here is a sweet little wash stand. I'd love to take it home!

Some lovely whites.

Love the blue and white set!

Janice always has beautiful linens. I have purchased several tea towels and bridge sets here.

Some sweet vintage quilts.

Here's a barkcloth pillow. I just did a post about my barkcloth bag yesterday.

Bits and pieces of loveliness.

I am so fond of vintage cards. Are you?

Boxes of crochet trim.

Look at this adorable vintage Raggedy Ann game ...

And these little blocks ...

And a sweet little hand made dress. Well, that's the end of our visit. Thank you for coming along with me and I hope that you all enjoyed yourself today. We'll have to make a date to go shopping again soon! In the meantime, be sure to stop by Cindy's Romantic Home for Show and Tell.

I'm sorry that I left you at home Bentley, but I know how bored you get when we go shopping. What if we take a walk together right now? Would you like that??? Do you forgive me for leaving you behind??? Of course you do!!!

A Favorite Vintage Bag

This is one of my favorite vintage bags. I don't know too much about this style except that the fabric is bark cloth. This bag just evokes thoughts of a more gentle and peaceful time.

The bark cloth has such a great cottage look and I love the wicker handle that widens and wraps around the sides and bottom of the bag.

Now I'm putting on the kettle for another cup of tea and I am off to visit Suzanne for Vintage Thingie Thursday. Can't wait to see what everyone has to share this week!!

Come sit in my lap Bentley. I'll show you pics of Suzanne's puppies!!

Add some White Outdoor architectural elements ...

and just be playfull!!

Thanks for allowing this crazy girl a few moments of whimsey!! Have a fun filled and happy day whether you love RED or WHITE or just being OUTDOORS!! Now please take some time to visit our friends Sue for Rednesday, Kathleen at Faded Charm for White Wednesday and Susan for Outdoor Wednesday.

Cottage Laundry

Day 2 of the back porch tour at my cottage. Here is my laundry room. A wicker laundry basket filled with clean towels.

Vintage wash basins hung on the wall. I actually use these quite often. Oh and see that old thermometer? It was here on the back porch when we bought our cottage. It was from some company that no longer exists. Their phone number was 34521 ~ long before prefixes were added. I hung it here because it seems to belong!

A sweet vintage laundry bag. Love it!!

An old pie safe filled with quilts ~ readily available in case we want to grab one to take out to the hammock for an afternoon nap.

David put up these shelves for me to store essentials like vintage picnic baskets ...

and vintage picnic tins ...

And detergent and cleaning products. That's it for today. I'm off to visit Marty for Table Top Tuesday!!

Bentley wants you all to know that he loves to take naps in the hammock too, but is not very fond of baths!!

My Cottage Pantry

Today I am giving you a tour of my cottage pantry. It is located on the back porch off of my kitchen. It's a lovely light filled place where I store staples for cooking, marketing bags and more. Here is a basket filled with milk bottles that will be returned to our local Boise Co-Op for fresh milk. I am in love with this new local dairy that sells it's delicious milk and cream in bottles!

My husband built these shelves for me. I store can goods, my slow cooker, vintage cake pans and more.

On the top shelf are baskets filled with vintage thermoses, lunch boxes, a vintage bread box with an old style popcorn maker on top. I'm just not a microwave girl.

There are marketing bags ...

And a French market basket too. I am in walking distance to the Co-Op and this basket makes it easy and fun to collect my fresh veggies and milk.

More baskets ~ always useful. My three tiered hanging copper basket. It is filled with artificial fruit and veggies that once belonged to my Mom. Because she gave them to me I just can't part with them, so I show them off for fun in the corner of the porch.

Here's my vintage Skotch Cooler. It's so decorative and fun to use for picnics.

And finally ~ my little sewing cabinet where I store a stash of fat quarters for quilting. That's my tour for today. Tomorrow I will show you the other side of the back porch where the laundry is located. Until then, please go visit our lovely friend Cielo. She has a charming cottage to show you at The House in the Roses for her Show Off Your Cottage Monday.

Yes Bentley, I know we keep your bag of crunchies out on the back porch. We showed it on a Pink Saturday post remember??

Vintage Afternoon Bridge

Hi girls! How about coming over to play some bridge this afternoon. The coffee is ready. Make yourself comfortable at my old card table. I just love this vintage card table cover, don't you?

Do you take cream and sugar or just black?

If you need a refresher course, don't worry. I have my Mom's old contract bridge books for reference.

Here are some vintage playing cards. Can't you just hear Lucy say, "Caroline when are you going to get some new cards?? We've been playing with these same dirty old cards for ages!!" Lucy said something like that to Caroline Appleby when Ethel, Ricky and Fred bet her $50.00 that she couldn't tell the truth for 24 hours!

Okay, take off your gloves girls and lets play cards!

It's been a while since I have played. Hand me those contract bridge books will you please?? While I am refreshing my memory ... have some more coffee and go visit Suzanne for Vintage Thingie Thursday and Susan's 100th posting of Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.

Don't peek at the other players cards Bentley, it is not fair!

Susan and Bentley
