Changes at Ash Tree Cottage

I was inspired to write this post after reading and
contemplating Brenda's post yesterday.
Her question was "Should We Tell It Like Is?"

For me the answer is yes.
I am bored with my own blog posts.

I'm so bored with my own material that I have
been hanging around Pinterest a lot creating my own
inspiration boards.

But it's more than just being bored with the party themes
and feeling the need to spray paint everything  white.

What's happened to my soul?
Where is the passion?

So I am contemplating some changes
and
I hope you will stop by to see what they are.
In the meantime ...
I'll be spending more time visiting all of you!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  1. Susan, I look forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve. Yes, you are right...sometimes coming up with what to write can be a bit daunting. You are not alone in your thoughts, not at all. I think that so many of us who have been blogging for quite some time now are feeling the same way.

    Hugs,
    Becky

  3. Change is good. I sometimes feel I am stuck in a rut with my posts. Maybe Brenda is starting a new trend to tell it like it is. As long as we women can connect, it's a good thing! Looking forward to seeing the changes in your blog!

  4. Good luck in your journey. I actually did this a few months ago. It was after I got a new perspective that my blog got better and actually grew. I hope you find the right changes that are right for you.

  5. I like to think that my blog is constantly changing. When I get bogged down, I take some time off. I know one thing that helped me was backing out of the "parties". All I was doing was chasing comments and followers.

  6. Susan, I just read Brenda's post. And I will tell you the same thing I told her... you need to make your blog be whatever YOU want it to be. Don't post because you think you have to or because somebody else did. Post what you want to, when you want to.

  7. I think your blog is just perfect, and always look forward to visiting.
I've had those same feelings of non-inspiration with my own blog, and am seriously thinking about closing it.

  8. Hi Susan,
I know how you are feeling and you are not alone.
Just be you....I always enjoy my visits with you.
I think some ladies have made their blog a job...posting everyday having beautiful photo's and everything so perfect... I sometimes wish I could devote more time, but I can't with my long commute to work, so I just post once a week and keep it simple. Maybe I'm not sharing as much of "me" as I could (I'll have to think about that).
so anyway you just keep being YOU...
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth

  9. You had me so curious at the first photo. It wasn't red. It wasn't "cute." I thought: this is Susan's blog? Yep, that photo just grabbed hold of me. It seemed mysterious. It said: Follow me and maybe I'll tell you a secret. Can't wait to see what's next!

  12. A blog can be whatever (and whenever) the writer wants it to be. No one stays exactly the same every day of their life. Why would anyone even want to? Write, don't write, explore whatever you feel, don't be concerned with us, we'll be right behind you watching to see where you path leads. :)

  17. Good luck with any changes you and your blog have in mind...I know what you mean about being bored. Sometimes I wonder why I spend so much time on this dang computer. I'm trying to find balance but haven't been too successful. It's your blog, it's your life. Whatever you do should make your heart happy. Have a great week!
