Okay ~ I am almost embarrassed to show you this but I so wanted
to join Marty's cloche party. I know, you don't have to tell me ~
it's pretty weak isn't it? When they were handing out cloche creation
genes I think I was shorted!
But ...
I think I can tweak. This is my herb garden potting bench from
last spring. I had a brainstorm and decided to move it to the
front porch to set up a fall display.
So here it is. That old dresser is a little bit chippier since it's been
sitting out in the elements all summer, but I think it adds to
the spookiness of Halloween don't you think?
I bet the squirrels are up in the walnut trees right now watching me.
They are no doubt thinking that they can feast on the pumpkins and
squash as soon as Bentley and I go inside. Trust me ~ I KNOW
HOW THEY THINK!
Oh well, I wish I could create a great cloche to wow you, but I am
afraid that just isn't going to happen.
Maybe I can convince this crow to coax a good witch to stop by
and cast a magic cloche creating spell on me. I wonder if it would
help if I found some sparkly red shoes, put them on and clicked my
heels and said "I now have cloche creating ability". Bentley,
do you think that would help?
So here goes ~ I am joining
and if no one looks too closely at my cloche I'll join
Bentley ~ honest, I do not think there is a cat or a squirrel in the
potting shed! When your daddy gets home we will all check it
out together. Bentley still does not believe me.
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
It's not that bad but I especially like your vignettes.
ReplyDeleteI love anything you create! You already knew that, tho :) Love and hugs.

p.s. I love the little chest on the porch! I know Bentley does, too!
So THAT'S what they are called?? Don't think I heard of them as a "cloche" So I learned something new today. Yours looks lovely .
ReplyDeleteAND...I am IN LOVE with the little cabinet that you moved to your porch. Great Idea. It really adds so much Charm I think. You could do all Kinds of seasonal things with that.
Oh, how I love your Fall decorations..pumpkins and bird cages...crows and pine cones! I am ALWAYS picking up pine cones! But I am cloche challenged, too. I've never put one together! Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteI love wire cloches! I have a hard time with them, too. Those and mantels...sigh. Your potting table looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane

Susan, I really like your cute potting cupboard, and it looks so great with all the pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
have you heard the trick to keep squirrels from eating your pumpkins? I read to spray the pumpkins with hairspray. When they try to eat it they taste/smell the hairspray and leave it alone. hae not tried yet, but it should work
ReplyDeleteYour display is gorgeous. I love the potting stand. It has the perfect amount of chippiness! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love it! They are such beautiful displays :)
ReplyDeleteWho in the world needs a cloche when you can have an adorable porch like that?
ReplyDeleteHelene
I love what you've created, it looks gorgeous! Thanks so much for stopping by and joining in my blog. Will be back to check out your other post.
ReplyDeleteI love your vignette with the crisp white mixed with the blacks and oranges of Halloween. Your potting bench has aged perfectly and I like it better this way! You do have good tastes....I have a very similar birdhouse like the one the crow is on. Thanks for sharing this area of your home and tell Bentley I hope he's safe from all those wild and scary creatures!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that chest on your front porch and the lovly vignette for Fall that you have created with it!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it looks so charming against the window with those cute curtains and lamp!!

Sounds a little squirrely to me. lol! Seriously your cloche is just fine I think it's darn cute. Now for the chippy dresser, I love it! Sounds like Bentley has it work cut out for him keeping the critters at bay.

ReplyDeleteYou did great - very pretty! Squirrels are the reason I don't have bird feeders. We are over populated with them around here. :/
