More Christmas on the Porch 2012

I saw a couple of snowflakes this morning.  It's cold and damp
and cloudy but I don't think we will have more than a few
flakes today.  I decided to take a break from watching the news
about the tragedy in Connecticut.  I have been shedding tears
on and off all morning.

I have decided to turn the whole thing over to God.  Without
Him, I can do nothing.

I found this adorable little bird at Blooms.  I just knew that
he had to be in a front and center vignette, so I gave him his
own little Christmas roost.

I always hang a pair of stockings on the porch just in case
Santa is too pooped to make it up to the rooftop!

I love to fill the wicker chairs with seasonal pillows too.

And some packages.

Have a safe and happy weekend and be sure to hug everyone
you love.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I
will give you rest."
~ Matthew 11:28

  1. Oh Sister, it is just all too charming. I had to turn the TV off, too. Just all so sad and horrid. Those poor children, adults and the parent's and relatives left behind. Prayer is all we can do.
I am home sick with the flu, ugh. I have no get up and go. Day 3, hopefully I will start feeling some energy.

Bentley, my favorite part of the porch is the doggie pillow.

  5. YOur porch is adorable. I especially love the little birdie in the last frame.

I think you have the right take on the CT. tragedy - turn it over to God. It's so horrific, impossible to make sense of.

Wonderful to have you be a part of Seasonal Sundays.

  6. Thanks Susan, Your post was sweet and I wanted to think on these things. Sorrow is so heavy and to roll it all upon the Lord, allows me to pray for those in grief.
I wish you a very cozy weekend!

  7. Susan, I can't watch it. I taught elementary school for 30 years. I just can't begin to wrap my head around this tragedy.
    Hugs to you and Bentley.............Sarah

  8. Your porch is so warm and inviting, comforting really. We all need to give comfort during this terrible time. Know that God will always prevail.
I hope your hubby enjoys the pie as much as we do.

  12. Susan ~ I just love what you have done with your porch. So festive and calming. I would love to walk up there and just sit and chat over a nice cup of hot cocoa. I agree with you, I believe that we should give this situation up to the Lord, for without him, I can do nothing. I am sending prayers to all the families and friends.
