Cottage Gardens Part One ~ Gates, Pathways, Fences

It's been cold and windy here lately.  Now it is cold, windy and rainy.
Certainly not gardening weather.  However, we can always dream
can't we?  So get a cup of coffee or tea and make yourself cozy.
I am going to share some of my favorite garden pics from

Ash Tree Cottage on Pinterest

Every cottage garden needs a welcoming gate and walkway.
 Pathways to enchantment.

And getting creative with gates ...

Or simple charm ...

And fences with flowers peeking through ...

So while the weather may keep us indoors, we can always
keep the images of cottage gardens in our hearts.
Cottage Gardens Part Two coming soon!

Bentley is not spending too much time outside today,
but he keeps checking the entire yard every 30 minutes or so.
He just wants to let all of the potential invading critters know
exactly who is in charge!

Susan and Bentley

  5. Hi Susan, I just love all your pics here and started following you on Pinterest. It is cloudy and overcast right now but most of our snow has melted-yippee, I'm ready for spring and gardening. Hunter always cruises the yard, looking for bunnies and has started eating the gifts they leave behind-which also can make him sick. Tell Bentley not to try them.

  21. Susan, these are such beautiful images! We were able to get out and get things cleaned up and the pots planted. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks, we can get the beds planted with the annuals and a few new perennials. Thanks for the inspiration!

  24. Oh Susan!! I wish I could grow rose bushes just like those lining the pathways!! How do they do it?? I have yellow jasmine growing over an archway- but it's thin and not big and lush!! I've used miracle grow and it gets sun?? Girlfriend says it needs to be established - It has all the time in the world to just grow and look pretty! Need to get off of here and go spring clean the yard!! Lovely gates and pathways!
