I posted a picture of my blooming azaleas on Facebook recently. I was surprised
to see them blooming at this time of the year.
Then a friend of mine commented that the azaleas in the Japanese
Garden in Houston are blooming too. She told me that they are
confused because the weather has been so nice.
That's just fine with me. They can stay confused as long as
they like!
Bentley are you wondering where your friend Toby is?
He's just a pup. He may be taking a morning nap.
Toby is the cute little Jack Russell Terrier who lives
next door. He and Bentley are now BFF's.
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
A few azalea's are still blooming in the Japanese Garden and with temps rising to the low 80s next week ... more may join in!
ReplyDeletehugs to you and Bentley .....
xx
I hope you are enjoying this weather. Perfect don't you think?
DeleteMy azaleas used to bloom spring and fall on the southern coast of North Carolina. It was always a nice surprise. Love yours. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I can grow hydrangeas here. They are so beautiful in both of the Carolinas.
DeleteFunny how even nature can get confused.

I agree.

Please feature her doll houses. I would love to see them! Hope everything is going great for you in your new home.
DeleteI wish I would bloom when I am confused. Your azalea's are lovely no matter what time of year.
ReplyDeleteIf I bloomed when confused I would be blooming all of the time!
DeleteThose are gorgeous! No confusion here- it is freezing temps at night- and nothing is blooming- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBut your freezing temps are a good excuse to wear sweaters.
DeleteMaybe you have Encore Azaleas that bloom other times of the year, not just in the Spring.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I will have to find out. I need to find out more about gardening here on the Texas Gulf Coast. So different from Idaho.
DeleteI would be so happy to see my azaleas blooming this time of year. It's like a special gift for you to enjoy. Your yard looks so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words about my yard. The yard is large ~ 1/2 acre in the city and lot's of plantings. I am enjoying working out there.
DeleteHere in Maine, there are only a few blooms left trying to hang on as the weather gets colder. Soon I'll be back in Houston where I am very grateful for winter color.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of azelias being confused. Once in awhile our magnolias and forsythia get confused and bloom a second time or in late fall. We've had such a warm fall that I'm sure it would be confusing, but it is always nice to have more blooms at this time of year.
