New French Pillow and A Lamp for the Mini Cottage

Okay, I will admit it, I am a miniholic.  I just can't seem to help myself.
I spot something that I think would look great in "Texas Rosebud Cottage"
and the next thing you know it arrives in a little package at my front door.
This is the latest addition.  It is a little pillow that has a French soap label
printed on it.

The minute I saw it I was swooning.  I just knew that it would be perfect
in the Bar Harbor rocker.  And it is!  I don't think it could be any cuter.

And then ~ be still my heart, there is the new hobnail lamp for next to
the "reading" chair.  Don't you just want to shrink yourself down,
pour yourself a cup of tea and cozy up with that copy of
Black Beauty?  I sure do!  Unless I discover Alice's magic elixir,
I will just have to be content knowing that late at night when everyone
in our house is sound asleep, the little fairies are enjoying themselves
in the furniture that will one day move into the Texas Rosebud Cottage.
No Judy, the cottage is not built yet ;-)

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  1. I'm going to declare this the 'real' house and imagine I live there! I'll read Black Beauty and have a cup of tea! How delightful!

  2. Too bad we can't rent us a cottage on the beach and work on our dollhouses for a week. We could probably get them put together or at least, we could get a good start! LOL I LOVE your precious little pillow and the hobnail lamp is so cute!!

I am like you in that I just can't resist the minis and I'd hate to think what I have invested - you know how that goes!!

    Keep up the good work.

    1. That would be so much fun. We would have to invite Claudia and Brenda too! Regarding the cost of the minis, well I hate to think of the investment too, but it sure is cheaper than buying full size furniture and accessories.

  4. What is it about mini things? I also love minis and each time we would go to the museum on a field trip, I would always buy a mini white mouse ;o) I still remember it like it was yesterday and it was over 40 years ago! I adore your new little pillow that has a French soap label printed on it. Enjoy!

    1. The first time I became obsessed with minis was when my parents took me to see Colleen Moore's dollhouse at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. If you have never been there ~ Google it. A must see!

  7. It's just the sweetest addition to your special Rosebud cottage. I'm also a miniholic. My dollhouse is decorated for St. Patrick's day and I've started a new bunny Easter cottage. There's something so magical with miniatures. It's wonderful therapy too. Keep on playing. Hugs!

  10. Oh..how gorgeous! May I ask where you like to shop for miniatures? In the 70s it was a booming trend and there were shops everywhere. So far I haven't been overly excited about the sites I've found online. Maybe you have some good suggestions....?

    1. Happy to help. I often shop at minatures.com and New England Miniatures. I also frequent ebay shops. Just type in dollhouse miniatures on ebay's main page. It's a good place to find "hard to find" items. I love some of the stores on etsy. Have not purchased from there yet, but will. Hope this helps.

    1. I love mini dishes as much as full size ones. In fact, since I really don't have much more rom for full size dishes, mini ones give me an excuse to collect ;-)
