Why No Soup and Other Pressing Questions

It is mid June and I have a terrible cold.  Who gets colds in June???
As I am sitting here in my misery I am wondering why there is no
soup delivery service.  After all what is more therapeutic than a bowl
of homemade soup?

Walking past the hutch in the kitchen I see soup bowls just
ready and waiting to be filled.  No canned soup will do.
Only a lovingly made steaming homemade bowl of soup will
be the healing recipe I need.

And who doesn't love soup?

And then after you get past the soup only stage of the illness,
a comforting casserole is just what one needs for a complete
recovery.

And maybe a home baked cookie :-)

The first thing I am going to do when I feel better is to simmer
a couple big pots of soup and freeze them for emergencies
just like this!

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  2. Chicken soup for soothing & for the soul!! Gotta love homemade potato soup though. My mom made the best ever & I've come pretty close to replicating it. I hope you feel better soon. Your dollhouse is counting on you!

  4. Looks delicious! Are those cookies like Pecan Sandies? Yum! I hope you are better very soon. My husband had a really bad summer cold a few weeks ago. It took him about 10 days to really feel better.

  10. I've posted several of my homemade soup recipes. Wish I could have you just pick one out for me to make and deliver to you! I made some wonderful chicken soup the other day and topped it with the dumplings from my Chicken and Dumplings recipe. Uh oh, now you've got me craving soup again! Get well soon.
