I have a soft spot for prims. I liked them years ago and I am starting
to swing back to them. There is something so simple and soothing
about their appeal. Perhaps it's an escape from our stressful world.
Here are some pieces I thought you might enjoy seeing.
Even if you did not want to commit to a whole house, or an entire room
to prims, a few of these touches bring charm and comfort to a space.
I have more pics of the show and I will share them with
y'all tomorrow. Have a happy Monday!
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
I have never decorated with prims but have always appreciated the style. As you said it is a reminder of simpler times.
ReplyDeleteThey are homey.
DeleteSo pretty, Susan! Lucky you to have an entire antique week to search for treasures!!

Wish I could have been there for a whole week. I live two hours away so I was just up for the day. Maybe this spring I will be able to spend more time there. It's so enormous that I don't even think a week would do it!
DeleteI've always loved prims, so whenever I see a post about them, I have to check it out. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped by!
DeleteMy tastes run the gambit but I always come back to primitives. Even when I try to move away from them they pull me back I guess I am just a old country girl at heart. That blue cupboard makes my heart sing.

Glad you like the blue hutch. I do too!
DeleteI know what you mean...I had every type of primitive there was and really loved them but I had decorated that way since 1983 and I just got tired of it. They do make a room cozy though, how nice to be able to look at them at a fair!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that the fair has lots of variety and not all one look.
DeleteLove the pretty blue cupboard...and I am always a sucker for anything solid wood, especially boxes for some reason. Thanks for sharing this :-)
ReplyDeleteI gravitated to that blue hutch right away!
DeleteAll so wonderful . I to love that blue hutch . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteSo many pretty pieces!!
ReplyDeleteI could spend days going through all of the booths ~ well weeks would be more like it :-)
DeleteBeautiful. I agree with you there is just something about the prims. I love them too. I have a few places in my home I have decorated with them. Thanks for sharing. Karie
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Karie. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteAlways loved prims and never get tired of them. My home is so small, I can only have them in the kitchen, they are still my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI have some in my kitchen too.
DeleteIt's a look that really appeals to me now and I think it is because it reminds me of times when things seemed so much simpler.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think that's why the still have appeal.
DeleteYou have Round Top here in New England we have Brimfield. My daughters and I go every year...so much to look at it is always fun bringing things back to truck and heading off again to do the other side of the street. Last year we walked for over six hours. I mix prime in my home, in the dining room I have silver and pewter mixed on top of an old pie safe. I like the look.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, My friends and I were in Round Top too this year. It was HOT, but we had a blast. Even after an entire week, we weren't tired of it. Got some great ideas to try.
ReplyDeleteI love them, too. Funny, now they are called "farmhouse style" or "prairie style". Nevertheless, they lend themselves to a time gone by of simple style, functionality and homestead goodness.

Love a touch of prims in the house. They are so simple. Love the wooden box with the apples in it. I have been looking for one of those forever. Can't find it in my neck of the woods. ;-(. Another day of drooling over these pieces.
ReplyDeleteAwesome antiques. One of my favorite hobbies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics! I have always wanted to go to Round Top, but traveling from southern Indiana isn't just a short jaunt. Maybe someday! So I appreciate the sneak peek.
