Have Yourself a Cozy Little Christmas

In my house, cozy begins in the kitchen.  When most of our
neighbors and friends come to call, they enter through the back
door and since the kitchen is the first room they see, I like it to
be really festive for the holidays.  Come on in, and I will give
you a tour.

I always keep an apron or two hanging up because I love them
and because cooking can be messy;-)  At Christmas I like to
stuff their pockets with good cheer.

My kitchen island works overtime all year, but at Christmas it
is cookie baking central.

The child in me is alive and well and I like to keep things
looking whimsical.

I set up the tea cart with Christmas dishes and mugs and
napkins and berry napkin rings.

A terrier cookie jar and doggie dessert plates.

Santa mugs flank my vintage scale.

The farmhouse table in the breakfast room is decorated in
tartan.

The lantern lamp in the corner gets some ribbon too.

Thanks for stopping by and remember that backdoor friends
are the best kind!

I am excited to be joining day two of the Cozy At Christmas
Blog Tour.  Today's participants are:

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  4. Hi Susan, yes, backdoor guests are the best. Growing up everyone always used our backdoor entering into the kitchen. I wish my house was designed to do the same, but sadly it is not. Love your kitchen. Your details add so much cozy charm. From the aprons to the sweet Terrier cookie jar, everything is perfect. Love your breakfast table and the tartan pattern is a treasure. A visit to your home has been special. Thank you for sharing in our tour. I always enjoy my visit and leave inspired sweet friend. Merry Christmas xo

    1. Thank you Celestina! Our house is 68 years old and was built at a time when backdoors were common. I wish they would bring that concept back.

  17. Cozy, indeed! I think your kitchen is merry and bright. Love all the red and tartan details. Cute aprons! I gave my niece a darling scottie apron and matching kitchen towels this past weekend. I had her name embroidered on the apron, and she was so excited when she opened the package. Her home is on a Heritage Home Tour this coming weekend. I suspect the apron will be part of the tour.
