This post is in response to the blogger who wrote the very ugly comment on
yesterday's post about wicker to vent his anger about American
women in general.
First of all, let me say that I don't know who you are but I can tell
from your angry words that you are a pathetic individual. Perhaps you
were hurt by some woman in the past, but to blame all American
women for your discontent is ridiculous to say the least.
The American women I associate with are unselfish, loving women who
put their family, their country, their friends and their faith first! We care for
our homes and our communities. We reach out and volunteer to those in
need. You don't know us at all, nor have you ever associated with any
women like us.
Don't assume that I am some naive, fluffy little housewife who does not
know what she is talking about. I am a highly educated woman who
has been exposed to various cultures and nationalities from an early age.
I have travelled the globe extensively and spent three years living
in a middle eastern country where I taught First Primary at a local
school. My students and their parents came from various faiths
and nationalities. From my own experience I can tell you this ~
there are good and bad people everywhere. I would never lump everyone
into one category because of a personal grudge. I have met wonderful, kind
individuals everywhere and I have met some rather unpleasant ones as well.
That, unfortunately is human nature. Sadly, those unpleasant ones who are
greedy and unkind are the ones who start arguments and the ones who
start wars. They are found in every corner of the globe.
I for one am proud to be an American Woman. I am proud to know
other American Women who are good, kind souls who love their husbands
and their families with all their heart and will do whatever needs to be
done to preserve the sanctity of their homes!!!
I hope that other American Women Bloggers will stand with me
in praise of Women from every state in this Union!

Hey, I think it's spam. I saw the same comment on another blog (http://megduerksen.typepad.com/). Plus, look at all the numbers where the name would be. Spammers suck!

ReplyDeleteIt seems this person is making his displeasure know throughout blogland. You are the second woman (on my friend's list) to address these comments.
It is sad that this person has been hurt so badly that he feels he must lash out at any opportunity.
How true your statement that "good" and "bad" exists everywhere. BUT you cannot lump everyone into to one category. There are so many factors that produce one's reaction to what is going on around them. It is so easy to look at the negative. You have shown great wisdom and maturity in how you have handled this situation.
Sounds like he is all of the things he claims we are "immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste".

ReplyDeleteIf these are real men, we need to pray for them. They are looking for love in all the wrong places. I did go on the site and read their pathetic stories! I hear their cries but also want to ask where are you going to meet a lovely American women???? You will not meet them in a bar...
In order to meet a wonderful woman you have to become a wonderful man. Is he?
I do think our society is headed in the wrong direction but I still believe most women are just as you have described.
I suggest he look into his own soul before judging all American Women.

Thank you for speaking so eloquently on this topic. I saw that ugly post on another blog as well. I can't imagine what this person is trying to achieve by spreading this kind of nastiness. Thanks for standing up to hate... I agree with everything you said.

I was struck by the phrase 'highly unchaste', sounds like he is from a foreign country..hmmm? Or maybe he is in another country right now. Anyway, never mind what he says about the American Women, because we are in the United States of America, we as women have freedom, the same freedom as the men. Freedom to make good choices, the same as men, and freedom to make not so good choices, the same as men. Freedom to choose good mates and maybe not so good mates and the freedom to move on if that mate is unfaithful.
ReplyDeleteA word of wisdom to this man. You will never find a good woman with that attitude, so I would stop bad mouthing women before you say this to the wrong one!
I do want to say that I do not have much add to your beautiful words about the many wonderful women out there and most of them are all you stated. I am proud to be an American Woman and have brought my daughter up to be a good wife and mother like every other woman I know and call my friends. We will not listen to hateful words from 'males' like this (I won't call him a man, as a Real man doesn't speak this way) and we will continue to be women who spread joy and love to all around us.

ReplyDeleteIt boggles the mind that there are some people out there who just want to tear down and never upbuild..they get a charge out of ruining others fun...very sad people indeed...
Delete questionable or insulting comments and don't let them bother you. Those kinds of comments are either spam or from disturbed people and none of us need pay attention to them. There are lots more of us who love your blog just he way it is!!
ReplyDeleteIt's clearly spam in the form that is was "hate mail" I will stand with you. and hope who ever wrote the comment to you comes back and sees all the support you get. I too have traveled and seen a lot in our world and I am so very happy that I get to call America and it's teachings my home. I encourage this man to not stop at this blog but to click on many others from this page and read on to see how all of the women who are connected from here are loving family women who love to take care of our family and serve our Father in heaven.

Susan, Well said. I am an AMERICAN WOMAN and very PROUD of it. This man needs to wake up and look around, this old world is in enough trouble as it is without stirring up all the American women, we are fighters not quitters. I have traveled about half way around the world and America by far is the best place to be.

I am right there with you Susan! Recently I was visiting a blog I used to follow in which the woman whose blog it is had made a disparaging comment about America thinking it runs the world.
ReplyDeleteThe comments that followed her post were also very unkind to America and it's people. Rather than blast them back I chose the high road because I have a feeling I know where these ugly comments come from and I didn't want to go to that place with them!
I can only imagine how painful it must be to live with an envious heart, so I will pray for them.
I think this week for President's Day I will do a special post for our country and it's people!
