We are all very excited here at Ash Tree Cottage!
We have a signed offer and in two weeks we will be closing on
our lot up in New Meadows.
Our lot is up in this lovely mountain area about 2 hours from
our cottage in the city. We have been coming up here for over ten years now and
our close friends have been so generous to let us stay in their lovely cabin often.
We are looking at plans and dreaming of what we want to build.
There are some lovely homes up there like this one. I am partial to
post and beam.
Bentley ~ are you looking
at the house, or are you searching for chipmunks?
We'll also be deciding on a name for our retreat.
Should we call it Ash Tree Cottage North or
Lagniappe North? The latter will be David's choice.
David is looking forward to playing lots of golf on this course. This is the
14th green.
We won't start building until next spring because up in the mountains the
snow starts flying early and lasts for months. This pic was taken just around
the corner from our lot.
I think we will need a snow blower!
Bentley ~ where did you disappear to? Are you hiding behind that snow drift?
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Congratulations! I vote for Cottage North and I think Bentley is most certainly looking for the Chipmunks...just to make friends, of course!

Congrats Susan! So exciting and so picturesque! Xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Looks like lovely country. Maybe you should name it "Bently's Base camp" LOL!
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
If I were to have a "retreat", I would go for a seaside cottage (because I like warm), but I can certainly see the appeal of this beautiful part of the country!
ReplyDeleteVery exciting Susan, have fun with all of the planning:@)
ReplyDeleteoh congrats! that looks fantastic. how wonderful to be starting a new building venture, lucky you. stay close dear Bentley...

Congratulations on your proposed mountain home. I vote for Ash Tree Cottage North or Ash Tree Cottage II
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Bentley in the side mirror is great. Better put a GPS tracking device on his collar so you don't lose him up there.
Oh what exciting news! This will be so exciting!
ReplyDeleteHope you will bring one of your creative posts or projects to Potpourri Friday! It's a fun party and you would be an asset!
How wonderful! We are in the mountains of NH all the time and the snow will fly and last for months. How much fun you will have planning your cozy hide away.
