This is a Christmas gift from David. It is a vintage child~size hutch
that I will be using on top of my big desk in my new studio. It has
three drawers and two shelves above with little glass doors.
Of course you knew I would paint it!
I have painted it white. Will be distressing it a bit more and
then waxing the finish. I also found some adhesive fabric paper
at Jo~Ann's. I plan to adhere it to the back of the shelves.
Pink and green floral and stripes ~ couldn't resist!
I am thinking of painting a few flowers on the drawers ...
And maybe paint the knobs or I might use glass ones.
I have not decided for sure. I'll just let the hutch speak to me.
Maybe I will replace the plexiglass doors with chicken wire.
Oooh ~ I feel just like a little girl again! Thanks David!
I am happily joining ~
Bentley ~ you can play in my new studio any time you want.
I plan to have a big basket of toys in there for you!
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Oh how pretty! I do love seeing these fun ideas, though I'm afraid I'm not very good at doing them myself. Hmmm - I guess I'm an "armchair DIY-er" I guess ;) thanks for the fun visit.

Can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I too admire your wonderful gift from your hubs. I can see your wheels are turning like crazy with decorating this awesome treasure. I also love the pink roses with the stripes. I once papered my large bedroom and master bath with similar French wall paper. I went all out with this $500 wallpaper because I thought it would be my last home. Since then we have moved twice. Then I hard the new owners tore the paper down. Sigh! I can't wait to see your finished project. Beverly always says that bedroom was her favorite decorating job that I have ever done. (We have been friends for over 42 years) I have photos, maybe I should share them on PS one day.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and Bentley a wonderful 2013.
xo, Jeanne
What a sweet husband you have! It's adorable - and I know you will love gazing at it every day!

Have a blessed Sunday.
Hi Susan, I just want to say ditto to all the lovely comments. I do think this hutch is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI have had fun linking up! Thanks for the invite! Seeing Bently so much has made me miss my litle yorky. His name was Max. He was my Mom's doggie and after she passed I inherited the little guy:)
Have fun with the make-over and your craft room I am sure it will be amazing!
Blessings, Roxy
What a fabulous gift! Can't wait to see how it will look when you are finished.
ReplyDeleteI can feel your excitement through this very interesting post. Have fun...Balisha
ReplyDeleteSusan, your new little cupboard is a fabulous gift! Love the papers and can't wait to see what it tells you to do. I just painted an old cupboard I had with A.S. old white. Thinking maybe I distressed it a little too much. Did you do two coats? I only did one. It was stained underneath. Maybe that's why. I will post about it and decide if it needs to be whiter. It has twelve cubbies so I have been looking for some fun numbers to put on it. No luck so far. Thanks so much for sharing with Share Your Cup. Give Bentley a hug for me!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
p.s. I didn't know Robin was your sis. That is so fun! Thanks for letting me know.
Just lovely! Can't wait to see it when your finished, its so pretty already.
ReplyDeleteOH cute! Love the way you previewed this in the photo. I'll have to click on your blog link and see if there's a new post. Hugs to Bentley.
