Hearting the Pink Stripes Now

Before we moved into our new house I was convinced that the pink
striped walls in the foyer had to go.

But I went ahead and hung some horse prints and put down a
carpet.  Suddenly I started to warm up to the pink.

Then David came home from work one day and said
"I like the pink striped walls in the foyer" and he
also thought the pink accented the hunting scenes.

That's important to me because I love the equestrian prints.
I would live in a stable if I could :-)  So we are hearting the
pink right now, but we are looking for a new front door.  I
want one with glass to bring more light into the entry.

Well that's it for today.  Little by little we are getting through
all of the boxes and staging rooms.  When the last box is
unpacked I will celebrate and it will be my favorite thing!

Happily Joining ~

Bentley is really loving his big yard!

  2. Hi Susan,

I love the pink stripes! They look very elegant in your foyer, and I agree with David that they accent the hunting scenes. We have that exact Scotty print hanging in our den. :) I really like your new home, Susan. Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Susan, I like them too. I bet they look more subdued since you put furniture and pictures in there. Your table and the hunt scenes are beautifully accented by the stripes. Well done! laurie

  5. I am not a "pink" lover but I must say I like the way the wallpaper looks. I'll bet with a different door it will look even better. Keep it!

  20. Sometimes you just have to live with things...I had the same feeling about a huge evergreen tree at the end of my cottage when I moved here..Now I love it..

  24. I can see where if the foyer was empty the pink stripes would be overwhelming. I like the way they look sort of as a back drop for the other things you've used in the foyer.

  25. Hi Susan,

Have been recovering from a computer crash that kept me out of cyberspace for two weeks. What a lovely surprise to see all your wonderful progress in your new home. Just got back from taking a little tour of all your decorating fun after the 'tweaking' post and have to say that it is all so enchantingly beautiful! Stopped here in the front entrance as it is a pretty and cozy welcome to the rest of the house. I agree; the pink stripes are a perfect complement to your equestrian art and the two together give the room a very rich and elegant feel. Looking forward to more opened boxes!
