Twenty-five years ago on June 1st, David and I were married. Because our
anniversary falls on a Sunday this year, we decided to celebrate yesterday
and we spent our weekend in a cozy little cottage in the charming Texas Hill
Country town of Fredericksburg.
The Creek Street Cottage was our home for the weekend. Everything about this
cottage was so well thought out from the big wide front porch with two
rocking chairs and a porch swing, to the …
screened porch on the side of the cottage.
The living room was very cozy with a comfy chair and sofa, bookcase
filled with books, small dining table and chairs and a lovely wood
burning fireplace which I am sure is perfect on cold evenings.
Oh and there is a cute kitchen that opens to the living room, but I did
not take any pics. A cute bathroom with bead board too.
Can't you just imagine a crackling fire in the fall or winter?
This is the screened porch off the bedroom. The neighbors next door have
chickens so we could hear them clucking away in the garden while we
enjoyed our morning coffee out here.
The cottage came complete with vintage bikes which are so perfect for riding
through the lovely historic neighborhood. It is also a short walk to Main Street
where many of the shops and restaurants are located.
The bedroom had a lovely queen size iron bed too. There are lots more
decorative pillows for this bed, but I took this shot just before we
checked out, so they were piled on a nearby chair.
This was our first trip to Fredericksburg and we enjoyed every minute.
Of course Bentley came with us and it really was not very hard for me
to find a pet friendly cottage because many of them are. Did I ever tell
you that my Yorkie named Bitterman was in our wedding ceremony?
Well, he was. We have owned three Yorkies during our twenty-five
years of marriage ~ Bitterman, Binkie and now Bentley. Our dogs
have always travelled with us and we would not have it any other way!
We had a very lovely weekend. It was romantic and memorable.
I love David more than the day I married him and I am looking
forward to many more happy years as his wife.
I will be posting other pictures of Fredericksburg later this week.
I can hardly wait to show you the library which is in a beautiful
native sandstone building and is just about the most charming and
peaceful library one can imagine.
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and David and Bentley

Love the open porch. Perfect spot for iced tea & cookies. I'm partial to peanut butter myself. Congrats on 25 years of marriage & best wishes for 25 more.
ReplyDeleteParabéns! Adorei a casa. Adoraria que aqui no Brasil tivesse lugares assim. Há lugares bonitos aqui, mas não tão romântico!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you both! The little cottage is lovely. xoxo

Bentley, did you try and chase the chickens???
Happy Anniversary to you both! What a gorgeous place you stayed in! Hope Bentley didn't mind the chickens :)
ReplyDeleteHappy week, Susan.
