Here is is, my new personal planner. I ordered it back in November and have
been so anxious to start using it. Now that January has arrived, and it's time
for me to start recording my daily goals and plans and checking off the "To Do"
boxes, I suddenly feel intimidated!
Isn't that the silliest thing?
Do I use the stickers I ordered?
After my Christmas coma, I have to really think about what my
personal goals are for this year.
What about filling in those squares on each day? Will my handwriting
be okay? What if I make a mistake???
Suddenly, something as simple as a personal planner has such power
over me. I need to step away and think about this for a bit. Maybe
I should make a cup of tea and calm down, lol!
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
PS: Bentley is not troubled by such silliness. He just stopped
listening to all of my questions and curled up to take a nap.
I am starting my first personal planner this year. It is scary but I just plunged in and figure no one but me sees it so just go for it. Make it work for me! We can do this!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Linda, we can do this!
DeleteWell my planner involves...trying to go with something different. After 7 years with an Erin Condren planner, this year I decided it was silly to spend that much money on it and I got a knock off at a much cheaper price. I am beyond sad. I set out to fill in my new one on New Year's Eve and HATED it. The paper is thin and it doesn't have the same set up. I live by the planner...if it isn't written in there it is not happening. I have all of my stuff plus Mom's stuff to keep up with... What was I thinking?! I promptly got on the computer and ordered me one, but now I have to wait. I will gladly pay the price for it. I have loved it and will splurge every year as long as she makes them.
ReplyDeleteGet those pens out. It is a great planner:)
This is an Erin Condren planner, and yet it was a bit pricey. Actually, many of the planners are. I think I looked into all of them. Hope your planner arrives quickly!
DeleteI can relate to that feeling - you can do it girl! Take the plunge and just start! Perhaps you should put on some silver shoes for power? (see my post haha)
ReplyDeleteI don't have any silver shoes, oh wait, yes I do. I just remembered. I will give them a try!
DeleteBentley, my dear, has the right idea...2019 will happen, if you fuss about it or not.
ReplyDeleteJust be you!!! Be happy and healthy and everything will else will follow! Blessings for the New Year!
Thank you and a big Happy New Year to you as well!
DeleteI agree with Carrie. Just take the plunge and start. I think once you start it will then become less intimidating to you. I have a planner just for appointments. With taking care of my mom and all her appointments and mine and my husbands along with babysitting certain days for my two grand girls I have to live by a planner. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteKris
You are exactly right, Kris!
DeleteI think you should listen to Bentley. Being organized is one thing, but don't obsess. Enjoy the day and your heart will be lighter. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteBentley is so wise. Maybe he should take over as the writer of this blog :-)
DeleteI love that planner - pretty colors & looks like plenty of space to write with different areas of focus. I understand your intimidation; we want to have the planner work for us, but remain beautiful. Last year I chose a planner that I did not like, used it all year because "I paid for it"... this year, I was slightly more selective. Look forward to seeing how you use and decorate your planner.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! Last year I purchased a planner on sale at Hobby Lobby. I loved it and hoped that I could find another one just like it for 2019, but I could not. I spent days deliberating (I know, silly) and finally took the plunge and purchased this Erin Condren planner. I purchased accessories too. One of the accessories I really love is the wet erase shopping list. I have historically notorious for forgetting my grocery list!!! Now I take my snap out list to the pantry and freezer, jot down what I need and return it to my planner. Then, I
Deleteorder my groceries online from this list. It's working out so well! 2019 should be a better year just for this reason!
wow - that is a new idea for a grocery list, reusable & snap-out/take-with-you. I like it. I haven't ordered my groceries online yet, but seems like a great way to decrease impulse buys.
DeleteI have spent way too much time on the Internet searching through different sites looking at planners, actually talking to customer service persons at several sites. Finally found one I liked at CVS Pharmacy of all places. Of course, as we were in Barnes & Noble looking for a Christmas gift, they had tremendous selections of planners to choose from and every one was 50% off. I looked but tried to remember I did not need a second one although there were some fantastic choices. Next year I'll look there.
