Cozy Cottage Elements

I want to thank all of you who come to visit me.  I have not been very good about 

returning the favor, and I do apologize.  Life has been very hectic around my

cottage for the last several weeks.  My Mom was ill several times, my hubby

David was too and then my Mother-in-Law passed away.  

I have been trying to balance all of my obligations, and frankly, blog reading

just took a back seat.  Now things seem to be settling down to a more

normal pattern and I will be happily following and commenting on all of

the great and creative blogs I love so much.

So until then, here are a couple of mosaics I have put together to bring the "cozy" 

feeling back into my little cottage and to share than coziness with you.

What a great group of friends I have made and I thank you from the bottom

of my heart!

Big and Little Blue Kitchen Helpers

Blue and white look so crisp and clean in a kitchen. I love it in bowls and pitchers and ramekins too. Of course one of my many Julia Child's cookbooks is handy. While I love big blue kitchen helpers, I also love ...

Little blue ones too!

Here's my vintage miniature tin kitchen cabinet with some very vintage and blue pieces displayed. Love those miniatures!! Now that you have seen the big and little blue kitchen helpers at Ash Tree Cottage, don't forget to visit Smiling Sally for her own Blue Monday!!

Bentley likes the miniatures too. He ran off with this little chair once when he was a puppy. The little drawer that fit under the seat is now gone. Of course I forgave him. How could I not?? Isn't that right Bentley??

Blue and White Monday

I love the crispness of blue and white. Reminds me of a starched white pinafore.

Blue and white calico, soft blue and white checked flannel to be used for a quilt one day.

It always looks fresh and cool...

Mixed with a bit of shabby ...

Pillow Love for a Blue Monday

Pillows ... love, love, love them!! They are everywhere in the cottage. You will find them in old rocking chairs, on the sofa, on the bed. Since there is quite a lot of blue in the cottage, you'll find lots of blue pillows too. Many of them have pink flowers on a blue background ... like these. There are vintage ones, new ones and needlepoint pillows too.

My sweet hubby puts up with my pillow addiction, but I know he doesn't understand it. Ah well ... viva la difference!! Thank you for visiting me today and be sure to stop by and visit Smiling Sally for her Blue Monday party!!
