My Sincerest Apologies

Yesterday, Friday February 7th there was a miscommunication.  I  was

told to air my review for the new Suave Moroccan Oil ad campaign.

As it turns out, there was a mistake in the timing of that ad and I was then told

to remove it from my blog, so I have done so.

The timing of the posting and removal has been totally out of my control.

I apologize to all of you who were so kind to make comments on

that post in order to be entered into the contest.  My suggestion is that

you return to my blog this coming week when tentatively the ad will

be reposted.  

This is not my style and I am very saddened that this has happened.

Please accept my apologies.  In order to make it up to you, I will have

my own giveaway next week where I will have complete control.

All of you who entered the Suave giveaway are invited to participate

in this new giveaway and I will automatically give each of you

two chances to win.

Your readership and your friendship are of the utmost importance 

to me.  Thank you for your understanding of this unfortunate

A Few Pretties

Even though it has not snowed here in Victoria, nor have we 

had much bitter, freezing cold weather, I am getting tired of cold

and gray winter days.  Days of dark clouds, strong winds and

bone chilling dampness.  I can imagine y'all are getting tired

of winter too.  So I decided we needed a few spring time

pretties to cheer us all up.

I am dreaming of spring.  Every once in a while we get a teaser kind of a day

when the sun shines and the winds die down and time spent in the garden is

a real treasure.  I relish those moments and long for more.

I buy fresh flowers to keep the inside of the house alive.

I carefully change the water and remove any dying ones to 

keep the bouquet going as long as possible.

Still, it's not the same as digging in the dirt.  So satisfying.

Feeling at one with nature.  Hearing the birds, watching the

lizards and squirrels.  Seeing Bentley romp around in

delight in his big back yard.  Sheer heaven for me.

Seeing my dear boy so happy makes me happy too.

 I can hardly wait to make another fairy garden this year.

Of course you already know how crazy I am about minis!

I will have to make another  "Tinkerbell  Cottage" because I left the old one

behind in Idaho.  Fairies don't like to move you know.

Last year I had fun putting little dishes in between the pansies in the 

window boxes.  I will have to do this again.

In the meantime, I can look through magazines and create outdoor

garden plans in my mind.

I leave you with happy memories of spring days gone by

and dreams of the spring days to come.

Mini Wallpaper And A Mini Roo Too

This is the wallpaper that I plan to use in the room of the dollhouse that will

house the mini hutch.  I love the sweet little roses.  To me it looks like paper

that might have been in a grandmama's house.  I think I will need a chair rail

and some white bead board beneath that chair rail and some crown molding 

too.  If I can't find a mini carpenter I will have to install it myself ;-)

Did you see the new pink "crystal" candlesticks?  I think they are really sweet.

Since I have roos and hens all over my full size house, it's not at all

surprising to find them in my mini cottage.

  

Here is the little hen.  It is really plastic made to look like jadeite.  I remember

my own grandmama had a full size one that was milk glass.  She used to 

keep candy in it.  I wonder whatever happened to that dish?

Currently on the top of the hutch is a little picnic basket and two cake stands.

The pink one is made to look like depression glass and it matches the little 

dishes on the shelf below.  

Well that's the excitement for today.  If it appears that I have become mini

obsessed ~ well I must confess, I have!

Cottage Style Party

Bentley has been so patient with me all afternoon, but I think that he's
getting tired of being still because I just saw one of his mini stuffies fly
by my keyboard.  That means "play with me ~ now"!
See how well Bentley has me trained :-)

More Minis on Monday

I have added a few items to my dollhouse mini collection.  I made a little

seat cushion for the Bar Harbor rocker and added a little heart 

pillow too in honor of Valentine's Day.

A few more pieces for the hutch with more on the way.  I love mini

dishes just as much as I love full size ones!

Antique Rose Love

I have discovered a wonderful place that sells antique roses.  My Mom and I have
been discussing where to add some rose bushes in the garden.  I don't have a lot of
sun, but I have a few spots where I think roses will do well.  Mom pulled out an
article about roses form the last year's March 2013 issue of Southern Living and
they mentioned the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham, Texas.

I am sure that many of you are already familiar with this place, but for
those of you who are not, you will be delighted by their site.  Isn't this
stone cottage surrounded by kitchen gardens a delight!  Brenham is only
a couple of hours from us.  I have been to Brenham a couple of times
years ago and found it to be a wonderful hill country town.  Now I can
hardly wait to return to visit the emporium.

I have a list of roses we want to purchase.  I am quite partial to shades
of pink and I love bushes, climbers, knockouts, you name it.

I read that we can start planting roses in our area in February which is
just around the corner now.

There are several roses that have minimal thorns.  Good for little
dogs like Bentley that go dashing about through the garden in
search of critters.  Want to keep him safe!
