My Azaleas 2016

The azaleas on the side of my house are in full bloom right now.

They extend from the living room window, and across the dining room
window, under the kitchen window ….

and all the way down to the doorway to the breezeway
that connects to our garage.   When we drive up to
our house we are greeted by a sea of beautiful deep pink blossoms.
I love it!

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Sometimes I Forget ….

You always had the power my dear, you just had
to learn it for yourself.

~ Glinda, the Good Witch

This is my new mantra.  Well, not exactly new.  I used to
recite this to myself when I was a little girl.  Time to
put it back into use.

Have a happy Tuesday!  Bentley (my own little Toto)
and I will be outside working in the garden.

Susie Gets Cozy

I  have been away from this blog for several days now, and I will tell
you why….  I am a worrier.  I am one of those personalities who can
worry at the drop of a hat.  If there isn't something to worry about, I
will find something.  I wasn't always this way, but I have been worrying
for the past couple of years about things I have no control over, and
since I can't resolve them, it's a vicious circle.

I can worry so much that I make myself ill.  I started to get
headaches recently, which is totally unlike me.  The kind of headaches
that just make me want to stay in bed and keep the room really
dark.

So this morning I had a long chat with myself.  Yes, I have to
get stern with myself sometimes to get some results.  I told
myself to stop it!  Stop worrying about the things I can't control.
It's useless.  I am just making myself miserable and it's no fun
for David or Bentley either.

It's time to throw caution to the wind and start living large!
And guess what ~ my headache is gone!!

Cozy Nest Stormy Day

I watched a charming video posted on YouTube this morning of
a little hummingbird creating her nest.  All the things she
cleverly gathered to create her cozy nest.  Bits of fluff from
flowers, lichen and seeds and spider silk for string.  She uses her
own body and feet to tap and shape her nest to create a snug little
home for her eggs.

We are so like her in many ways.  We gather things to shape
our own little nests.  Spots created just to our liking to
withstand the storms of life.  Cozy little spots where we
feel safe, secure and happy.

Here is the video I saw.  I hope you enjoy it as much
as I did.

Have a cozy day!

Tending My Garden

It's very warm and humid today, and storms are brewing just
to the west of us that will arrive later this evening.

It's okay, we need the rain.  I would love to be outside
working in the dirt, but it probably won't be until the
weekend before the skies clear up again.  So ....

I will just have to work on indoor projects until then.  I am
thinking about painting the armoire in our master bedroom.
I haven't mentioned this idea to David yet.  Of course if he
decides to read this post, he will soon hear about it ;-)  He
read my blog post yesterday and teased me about telling
y'all that he was teary eyed watching the final episode
of Downton Abbey.  So, here is my disclaimer:
David is a big tough guy, but he has a soft heart.  I
have always thought that his tender side is endearing.
It doesn't make him any less of a big strong man to
show a bit of emotion now and then.  It just makes me
love him all the more.  Bentley loves him too.
