Mom and I took time out today to order this walnut
Chippendale serpentine front desk today from a wonderful
antique shop in Augusta, Georgia. It will take about four to
six weeks for it to arrive. Can you spell:
IMPATIENT ???
I am not one to wish for time to move faster, but in this
case I may.
What do you think Bentley? Do you like it?
Bentley ~ are you too busy keeping up with the
squirrels to care??? He doesn't care about
Chippendale desks, but he is bothered by squirrels.
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
What a lovely piece, Susan. A beautiful secretary is on my wish list. ;-)
ReplyDeleteDo you know where you are putting this one? Eager to see more of the new house.
Yes, the desk is going into the living room. The room has such a colonial feel that we have decided to add more Chippendale elements to compliment
ReplyDeleteit's character. Often the house just speaks and lets you know how to follow.
Susan
This is identical to the Chippendale secretary that I used to stage my friend's bedroom with- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful piece, I can't blame you for being impatient, I would be, too!

I'm extremely impressed along with your writing abilities and also with the format on your blog about antique doors Redlands. Is that this a paid theme or did you modify it your self? Anyway keep up the excellent high quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one nowadays..
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful piece of furniture...
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
I still have the bottom half of mine..I think it's a little wider..Love it
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved here, I had to get a shock collar for Mollie to keep her from chasing the squirrels. Now she's afraid of them..
I miss watching my "boys" chase squirrels! High Rise living has it's downside!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful desk!!
I love the desk. My sister-in-law has one similar in her living room and it is filled with old books and looks absolutely lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love it. I have a very similar one in storage. Can't wait until I can get it out. xo Laura
