I went to HEB yesterday and while in the produce department I grabbed
a bunch of bananas as I always do, when I noticed these
"Baby Bananas". Have you seen these before? I have not. Of course
they came home with me. Doesn't it always seem that a baby anything
is cute? Can't wait to try them. A perfect little low cal and nutritious snack!
A few weeks ago I found this two tier wire basket on sale at Hobby Lobby.
I can think of dozens of ways to use it. I never shopped at Hobby Lobby very
often when I lived in Idaho because it was way across town and I hated
the traffic out that way. Here in Victoria there is a Hobby Lobby just down
the road from my HEB Plus. This is dangerous for me :-)
The locals call HEB Plus "Gucci HEB" because it is more upscale than
the other one we have. The longer I live here the more I am feeling like
a local. I have started wearing my new cowgirl boots everywhere. If I
tell you I have started listening country western music all the time then
you will know that I have made a total conversion!
Remember when I came home with the West Highland Terrier I purchased from
Hobby Lobby this past Christmas? As you may recall I named him Angus and
he is now tucked away with the demijohns and the vintage scale. Oh and that
bucket is a Hobby Lobby purchase too. I told you this is getting dangerous.
I am thinking about putting some dried hydrangeas in the bucket.
So there you have it ~ my tiny tweaks for the week. Enjoy more
tweaking at Brenda's for

DeleteLove the little bananas. We don't have them here ;-( but they look yummy. I love cowboy boots and love to wear them ~ when there's not a lot of snow. Love your hobby lobby purchases. Everything looks so delightful ~
ReplyDeleteI hate to tell you this, but it's so warm here I am wearing flip flops. Of course in a few months I will be melting in the heat!
DeleteHobby Lobby is addicting. Be grateful you don't have a Homegoods nearby.
ReplyDeleteLove your island!
XO,
Jane
And don't you know it! Wow, would I be in trouble with a Homegoods in my city. I think there is one two hours from me in every direction ~ Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Austin. Just far enough away to keep me reigned in!
DeleteWe've enjoyed baby bananas for over 25 years, here in Greece! In fact, when we first moved here, they were the ONLY bananas available! I think they are sweeter than their mom and pop counterparts, don't you?
ReplyDeleteYour tweaks to your kitchen are pretty, Susan, as are the ones you've made all around your beautiful new home.
xo
Poppy
It seems that everything has been around longer in Greece. How I envy you being able to live in such a beautiful country surrounded by a rich culture and history.
DeleteYour tweaks make your kitchen look fresh as well as warm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Thanks Mary Alice!
DeleteI hope you let us know how the teeny bananas are, Susan. They ARE cute! And I'm with you on the allure of Hobby Lobby! I could spend hours just soaking in the interesting offerings and enjoying the soothing music.
ReplyDeleteLynn at Cottage and Creek
I will let y'all know how they are. From what I understand they are really tasty.
DeleteHi Susan! Nice to "meet" you! :) I need to find some of those mini bananas...Love minis! And LOVE Angus. What a great find. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been into a Hobby Lobby. There are a few in California, but nowhere near me. We are driving to Utah on Thursday for a few days of skiing. I am going to go look right now to see if there is a HL anywhere near our hotel in Salt Lake City.
ReplyDeleteI was born in Victoria! At Detar Hospital.. =) My folks are from a little community there called Nursery... do you know where that is??? So how were the baby bananas?? ♥
