Spring has finally arrived in south Texas. Here are some of my azaleas. There are still lots
of buds that have not opened yet. This side of the house has a northern exposure so
that's why the buds are slower to open, but we are still enjoying the color.
Here is the house across the street from mine. This is actually the side yard. When I look
out the front windows of my house I see the vivid pink of these beautiful azaleas. They
are very striking against the deep green of the siding. Notice our lawns have yet to
green up, but the gardeners have been busy cutting and prepping the lawns for the
days of green ahead.
This house is also across the street. They have a southern exposure so their azaleas
have really opened up. I am sorry my Mom missed this because she would have
really enjoyed all the beauty.
And lastly, here is my camellia bush. I am so excited about having one. So
delicate and pretty.
Bentley and I hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend!
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
The Azalea bushes are such a welcomed sight. Your Camellia bush is beautiful. ~ sigh ~ still waiting for spring here, but I KNOW it's on the way ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are amazing. We're a little behind but things are budding out. There's a town here in Oklahoma - Muskogee - that has a Azalea Festival. They have a whole park full of every color you can imagine. We have a park here in Tulsa that has always had gorgeous azaleas, but last year they pulled them all out and replanted. They said they old ones were so leggy and out of shape and needed to be replaced. So, I imagine it'll be a few years before they are breath taking again.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the beauty!
Judy
Love your camellia bush. The flowers are so lush yet delicate. I'm sure your Mom is enjoying Spring from heaven above.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have you at Seasonal Sundays.

That's right, this is your first spring in your new home!!! How exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we usually have azaleas by the window - inside... Even if we don't have leaves in the trees yet and the most of the migrant birds have not yet arrived we welcome every sign of spring with the same joy. I'm sure Bentley's nose is as eager as my dogs with all the lovely smells outdoors:)
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! Thanks for sharing! :) :)
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are gorgeous. When the Azaleas bloom it is always amazing. I'm heading to Texas today to spend some time with my Mom!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
It's coming right along there. You are a bit ahead of us here in Dallas. The grass is starting to turn green here especially in the last week. Things are popping out of the ground. It's so exciting!! Last year I jumped the gun planting things and this year I'm just not going to....hopefully. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! The azaleas are just so beautiful - dainty and delicate looking but too bad the blooms don't last very long.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
I am so jealous, it was snowing here this morning, again! At least the sun is out now. I love azaleas, some of the colors are just so vibrant, yours are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour azaleas are gorgeous. One of my favorite things about spring. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I only have azaleas buds so far in SC.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home. Those pink flowers are beautiful. Nothing blooming here yet. I did see little green things popping up at my son's house. You mother is probably enjoying those flowers right now. HUGS
ReplyDeleteI have always loved azaleas...we are a bit behind in blooming here in Maryland. So looking forward to spring. Your bushes are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of flowering bushes and trees, My favorites are azaelias, camillias, hydrangias, and gardenias, When I lived in CA we had some of each. Heaven! They were there when we bought the house, so they were well-established and strong. Here in Texas we have none. I could plant them I know. But I also know that I am a terrible caretaker of things that grow and are green!! Mainly because mine aren't green and rarely grow!! Makes me enjoy others' lovely successes even more!
ReplyDeleteThe azaleas in Tyler are barely blooming but in a week or so they should be beautiful. I have a camellia but I can't get it to bloom. We have a red one by a 100 yr. old home by our church that is under a big magnolia, receives no fertilizer or supplemental rain and it blooms profusely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
