Rednesday Clock

Here is my red schoolhouse clock. It keeps time in the kitchen close to the walkies corner. Of course Bentley doesn't need a clock to let him know when it's time for walkies. In Bentley's world it's always time for walkies!!

You can see his little terrier hook that holds his cute terrier ornament, his harness, his leash ...

Reds on the Line

One of the things I look forward to each year is being able to hang laundry out on the line. Here in Idaho in our semi arid climate and intense sunshine, we can hang out laundry and it's crisp and dry in no time. It is especially nice to hang out kitchen towels and aprons. At the cottage we have lots of towels and aprons with touches of red. So for this Rednesday at Sue's It's a Very Cherry World, I am showing off my "Reds on the Line".

There is a Williams Sonoma chef's apron, and some vintage kitchen towels.

There is an apron with a cherry and strawberry border.

Vintage strawberries are charming.

Just hanging out in the spring sun. They are going to smell so sweet when I fold them up and bring them inside!

Red Plate Special

It's Rednesday again!! Sue over at It's a Very Cherry World is opening up her Rednesday Diner and I am joining up with her to show you my "Red Plate Special". The Red Plate Special for today is a red ripe and delicious tomato sandwich served on lightly toasted white bread. Now don't go expecting the crusts cut off like at those fancy places. At the Rednesday Diner we believe in fiber, and yep, those crusts have fiber all right!! And you get a nice cold glass of milk with that sandwich, and no substitutions.

We use only nice ripe, juicy tomatoes. Mmmm, mmm, now don't they look tasty?

And we slather on some good old mayo. We don't serve any of the fancy gourmet stuff at the Rednesday Diner. Now how about a cookie with that glass of milk?

Susan and Bentley Red in the Kitchen

Yes it's me, Santa. Will someone please tell this blogger that Christmas is long over. It's spring now. I should have been boxed up and put in the attic until next December. While I realize that it is Rednesday and I am wearing a jolly red suit, and I am a kitchen timer, isn't this stretching things a bit Susan??? Okay, I'm supposed to invite you to go and visit Sue's blog "Its A Very Cherry World". Please visit her so that I can take a nap until next December. Oh no! What's this??

It's that little dog who lives here. His name is Bentley and he's bringing out his own Santa to show off for Rednesday!!

Bentley and I promise that now that we have shown off our favorite Santas for Rednesday, we will put them away and get on with spring. Now rush over to Sue's blog and see what are probably much more timely reds!!

Red Laundry Day

Nothing like the color red to liven up a wash day! Once again I am joining Sue over at It's a Very Cherry World for another Rednesday. I do so love Rednesday because ... well you all know why by now. Here is a vintage laundry bag that is hanging up on the wall of my back porch which is also the laundry room and the back pantry. I love the back porch because it is full of windows and is sunny and bright with a western exposure.

Here is one of my vintage red and white enamel basins. I love these and find so many uses for them. I can rinse fresh veggies from the garden, or soak fine washables or use them for tidying up around the house. I hang them on the back porch wall too so that they are easy to reach.

It was a lovely evening and I decided to hang up this quilt on the line to give it a good airing. I am very careful not to launder this quilt too often because it was hand quilted by my Mother-in-Law and is a cherished possession of ours. Thank you for visiting us on another Rednesday.
