Big and Little Blue Kitchen Helpers

Blue and white look so crisp and clean in a kitchen. I love it in bowls and pitchers and ramekins too. Of course one of my many Julia Child's cookbooks is handy. While I love big blue kitchen helpers, I also love ...

Little blue ones too!

Here's my vintage miniature tin kitchen cabinet with some very vintage and blue pieces displayed. Love those miniatures!! Now that you have seen the big and little blue kitchen helpers at Ash Tree Cottage, don't forget to visit Smiling Sally for her own Blue Monday!!

Bentley likes the miniatures too. He ran off with this little chair once when he was a puppy. The little drawer that fit under the seat is now gone. Of course I forgave him. How could I not?? Isn't that right Bentley??

Pink Saturday Gone Postal!

It has been so hot here for the last couple of weeks. The only thing that looks good in my garden right now are the Pink Impatiens around my mail box!

I'm posting a bit early for Pink Saturday because I will be working all day tomorrow ... so it's early to bed for me. While I am busy working, the rest of you can stop by with your morning coffee and visit our friend Beverly for Pink Saturday #? at her popular blog How Sweet the Sound.

Okay Bentley, grab your little teddy and lets get to sleep soon!!

Chenille in the Cottage

Chenille is perfect in a cottage. It's soft and cozy.

Great for the bath ...

For the shower ...

For a sweet little rug ...

For a puppy! Don't tell Bentley about the puppy, he has not seen this yet. Thanks for stopping by to see a bit of my chenille collection on this Show and Tell Friday. Please stop by to visit Cindy at her lovely Romantic Home. She's looking great! She's thin, trim and has a cute new "do"! I am also joining Kate for Flaunt it Friday. Stop by and visit her too.

Okay Bentley ... about that chenille puppy ...

An Interview!!

There is a great deal of excitement at Ash Tree Cottage today. I was interviewed by Giorgina for her site Decor-Medley! I feel so honored to share this spot with fellow bloggers whom I have long admired. Thank you Giorgina!!

Blogging has been such a wonderful experience for me. I have met so many new friends. It has given me a creative outlet and the opportunity to learn from others. I have not visited all of the bloggers Giorgina has interviewed, however there are a few whom I have followed for some time. These bloggers have inspired me. They are ~ Kimberly McCole of Dear Daisy Cottage, Tina Smith of Cherry Hill Cottage, Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses, the very funny Connie (and am happy to say, fellow Idahoan) of Living Beautifully, Rhoda of Southern Hospitality and lastly, Laura Ingalls Gunn of Decor To Adore. Be sure to read their interviews too, as well as those of the other bloggers!

Thanks again Giorgina. Bentley and I are honored. Aren't we Bentley???

Vintage Clothespin Apron

It's Thursdsay ~ time for another Vintage Thingie! Here is my vintage clothespin apron. It's great to wear when I am out back hanging laundry on the line. It has one large pocket all the way across the apron so that I can stash lots of clothespins inside. And ...

It's cute too, which goes a long way with me! I laundered some of my vintage linens today. Here they are hanging outside in the hot late afternoon Idaho sun. At 2700 feet elevation, the sun is really intense. These linens will be completely dry in less than 1 hour!! I better not spend too much time out here.

Stop by and visit Suzanne, The Colorado Lady, for Vintage Thingie Thursday. I hope the weather is a bit cooler where she lives. It's supposed to be 102 here tomorrow!

No walkies tomorrow Bentley. We will be taking it easy in the shade!!

Love,
Susan and Bentley
