You all have seen my English cottage hutch before, but now it
not only has a new home in the dinette area off my kitchen, it also
has a few vintage pieces added to it.
I have incorporated Mom's sweet hobnail pitcher and brought out the
toast rack front and center. Do you notice those adorable
cream soups off to the right? They belong to Mom too.
That's the beauty of blue and white china ~ all the pieces just
seem to work together even though the patterns are different.
Of course there is still a bit of Beatrix Potter because it is an English
style hutch after all.
I love things that look cozy and I love cozy mysteries too. I am
currently reading The Garden Plot by J.S. Borthwick. I have
been savoring a chapter each night.
Little by little things are coming together around here.
We are getting so anxious to get everything done!
Happily Joining ~
Bentley spent so much time trying to entertain us while we
have been unpacking and staging that now he's sacked out in
a chair sound asleep!
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Love that hutch and adore what you've done with it - looks GREAT!
ReplyDeleteYou are so correct about blue and white china - it all tells a story and certainly may be mixed and matched up!
Well done, and glad you are slowly getting unpacked and making your house your home. Yay.
I love the hutch and especially how you've adorned it with blue & white and Beatrix ! Very cozy. I would love to sit nearby and sip a cuppa while talking with you about decorating.

The hitch is lovely. How great it is to be able to incorporate some of your mothers lovely dishes with yours. I'm sure it pleases her to have you use hers also. Everything is coming together.
ReplyDeletePoor Bentley, I'm sure he is tuckered out with all the unpacking going on.
Have a great weekend.

ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Oh, the beauty of blue and white!
ReplyDeleteLovely dresser - my mum has one a similar size with all her trinkets on (and I used to have a larger white one - why did I sell it??!!) - however the way you have displayed your bits and pieces is really beautiful, so I wasn't surprised to see you are an interior designer! I hopped over to see who Bentley is! He is splendid looking! We have a Sydney Silky (which is a slightly larger version)!
ReplyDeleteStopping by after your visit to my blog yesterday, and your sweet compliment (www.marloandbill.com). Love this display. I have some of these same dishes and I love grouping them all together.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan, your hutch looks perfectly English with the beautifully patterned dishes - love the addition of the sweet Beatrix Potter characters - I just watched the Miss Potter movie - completely charming! I am delighted that you shared with Home and Garden Thursday,
ReplyDeleteKathy
