Cozy Up With Some Cocoa

I am starting to decorate my front porch for Christmas.  I have
gathered up a few things to use, but baby, it's cold out here.
So ...  I think it's time for a bit of hot cocoa to take off the chill.

Notice how I misspelled chocolate.  Every time I write the word chocolate,
I leave off the "e" so it comes out "chocolat".  But it's not my fault ~
it's genetic.  My great grandmother was born in France!

Some people have dyslexia.  I have a genetic affliction that
causes me to revert to the French spelling. Silly girl!

I have warmed up enough to take off my jacket and gloves
and am about to get to work.  As you may have guessed, I am
going for a lodge look on the porch.  I'll be showing you more later.

Until then I am joining ~

Tell everyone to have a bonne nuit Bentley!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  3. Oh Susan I love the French way of spelling chocolat! I decorated my porch the other day and it was so warm that I had to change to a short sleeve shirt. Crazy! I usually do a lodge look out there but this year decided to bring it into the entry. Have gone with a garden/bird theme for a change. Can't wait to see when you are all finished! Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
    Hugs,
    Jann
    p.s. Hug Bentley for me!

  5. I spelled my daughters name with the French spelling "Madeleine" No one knows how to spell it or pronounce it. They call her Madeline. My mother's side of the family is French. What a cozy scene. You have such a way of cozying up a scene. How is the cabin going?

  6. It is definitely not hot cocoa weather here, but I still enjoy a cup. It turned a little cooler, but far from winter. Mowed the yard today.

  16. Love all your holiday porch decorating, adore the pop of the red. And I must go get some hot chocolate now, one of my absolute favorite things. It's a rainy day in L.A. today, with more forecast. Better stock up!

Happy VTT and warm and cozy days to you and Bentley!

  18. Gorgeous photos Susan. I just found your blog and am now following on networked blogs.
Here in Australia it is summer and very hot and humid, but I'll still be drinking hot cocoa for Christmas :)
