Remembering My Dad

I will be taking several days off.  It will be one year since
my Daddy's passing this coming Saturday.  It's been a tough
year for both me and for my Mom.  Bentley and I will be back
sometime next week.  Thank you to all who follow us and are
kind enough to leave sweet comments.

Susan and Bentley

PS: For those of you who don't know, Fabian Bachrach was
the photographer who took the famous photo of JFK when he was a
young Senator from the state on Massachusetts.  It was the photo that was used
as the official presidential photo.  Daddy was lucky enough to sit for
a portrait by this iconic photographer.  It is my Mom's favorite
photo of him. Mr Bachrach died in February of 2010.

  1. Take time to honor your Daddy. My Daddy passed in 1992, and there still is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him in some way. I have his personality & his looks (no way he could deny me!) He was and still is my hero. I was always "Daddy's girl". I will never forget the way he smiled and his whole face lit up every time I was around.

  2. I lost my daddy years ago and it still is hard sometimes..It isn't easy around Father's Day, I know. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. My heart goes out to you, Susan. Your father is always with you...always. Peace to you, dear friend and always remember all of the good times that you had with your handsome father.

    big hugs,

  4. I will pray for you and your mom :) I am so sorry for your loss.....Xoxoxo

  5. My thoughts are with you. Thank you for sharing the lovely photo of your father with us tonight.

Be good to yourself, you're carrying many special memories that no one can ever take away.

  6. Susan ~ what a wonderful keepsake of your father. Take care, it's a milestone in your life ~ I remember losing my father and the first year is very hard. Special hugs to you and your mom xo

  7. When I lost my Daddy when I was 18 to cancer, I held on to this verse.

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book." Psalm 56:8

It feels good to know that God understands how deeply we hurt. I love that He collects our tears.

Praying for you & your mom to be comforted during this time with sweet memories of your daddy.
