The Mountains Embrace Me

There are rough patches in life.
Events that touch us and change everything.

Whenever I feel that the burdens of life become
too great  ~  I go to one of two places ...
the ocean or the mountains.

The big shoulders of the Rockies embrace me
and make me feel safe.  They provide a place of
comfort where I regain a sense of peace.

My Mom had a TIA ~ a Transcient Ischemic Attack
She is fine for now, but it is a warning that she
could have a stroke.

I plan to spend as much time with her as I can, so
I won't be posting as often as I have in the past.

I am just taking life day by day.
I'll be back when I can and until then
Bentley and I wish you peace.

Love,
Susan and Bentley

  3. you are right we live in the white mountains of New Hampshire and we went to the sea of our youth last weekend. Both give us peace. I love the mountains here they are strong but peaceful and I am so lucky to live here. Good luck with your mom's health I know how you feel and give bently a pat for me.

  4. Susan,
Take good care of your Mom, I know you will. My Mom has had 2 strokes which as affected her right side and speech. Along with the macular degeneration, it is hard for her and my Dad, as her primary caregiver.
Love you and Bentley. I will be thinking of you :)

  11. So sorry to hear about your Mom. You and she are in my prayers. Of course spending time with her is your top priority for now. I to draw strength from the mountains. I feel closest to God when I'm surrounded by their majesty. I feel HIS strength and am refreshed to cope with whatever comes my way. Please keep me posted with your Mom's status.

    Til next time...
    God bless and keep you.

  14. Oh Susan I'm so sorry. My mom had a major stroke 15 months ago, thankfully she made a pretty good recovery. She's weak, and need to use a walker but for the most part she's OK. I'll keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers.
