Cottage Christmas Tour Part 1

I will be spending the next few posts sharing scenes from my
little cottage, tablescapes and recipes with you.  But I must
tell you that I am so very saddened about today's shooting
at a Connecticut elementary school.

My heart and my prayers go out to the parents and families
of 26 victims in Connecticut, 18 of whom are children.

What a terrible tragedy.  I will never understand what
possesses shooters to kill other innocent people, especially children.

For all of those families, Christmas will be a very sad one.  Their
lives will be forever changed by this loss. Senseless, senseless tragedy.

God Bless them all.

Bentley and I want to express how very thankful we are to
have you all as friends.  Family and friends are the greatest
gifts in the world and our time together so precious.

Susan and Bentley

  1. A horrible tragedy. Our lives can change so quickly. Sad...
Bentley, looks like Mama is Christmasing up the cottage :)

  2. Love your decorations! Can't wait to see more!

  3. My husband taught and my daughter teaches when you send you sweet little ones to school you can think of a safer place. My heart aches for these families.
    pretty decorations.

  4. Thank you for this tribute to the children and adults forever affected by this horrible tragedy. I think we are all just sick about it. You are sweet and precious to create this tribute. Hugs ~ Mary

  5. My favorite Christmas cottage!! So darling.

  6. The world situation and the horrors people are creating, really puts a damper on the holiday spirit.

  7. Susan, I tried leaving a comment, but I'm not sure it went through. Thanks for this sweet post. What a tragedy for our nation......

  8. Such a horrific, heartbreaking day. My husband teaches elementary school and today was his schools last day before holiday break. I kept thinking of all those little ones lost today, looking forward to their vacations and dreaming of what Santa would bring them ... I am so very sick and tired (understatement) of whackadoodle angry people harming innocent people.

  9. Hi Susan,

Senseless. Shocking. And so very sad. Your words here today are heartfelt by all. One more word: scary.
    Prayers and thoughts.

  10. Your decorations are so homey and cozy ~ and I join you in praying for all those touched by the Conneticut tragedy. Christmas blessings.

  11. Susan, thank you for this thoughtful post. Today's tragedy has shattered the hearts of our nation.

  12. Hi it sure is a tragedy, the poor families, my prayers are with them. Your pictures were lovely,

  13. Lovely photos and expression of the sorrow and heavy hearts that we all have.

  14. Thank you so much for joining in and sharing scenes of your home, Susan. I can think of nothing but this tragedy. Two of my former students are very close to a couple who lost a child in the elementary school shooting. One of their children survived. The other didn't. Heart wrenching and senseless.

  15. This terrible senseless tragedy has affected us all. My thoughts and prayers are with the families today.

  16. Hi Susan, I am just numb and my heart breaks for these families.
You holiday decor is lovely and thank you for sharing a heartfelt post today.
    HPS...xo Tami
