Pink Quilts

It was a wonderful sunny afternoon in Idaho ~ just perfect for hanging some quilts on the line.

The sun and our fresh air makes the quilts smell fresh and clean. There is nothing like a cozy quilt to cuddle up in on a crisp, cool fall evening ... especially one that's pink and one with touches of pink!

Beverly has more pink touches for us this Pink Saturday. Be sure to pick up the link and check it out!

Bentley ... are you ready to play the making the bed game??

Cottage Laundry

Day 2 of the back porch tour at my cottage. Here is my laundry room. A wicker laundry basket filled with clean towels.

Vintage wash basins hung on the wall. I actually use these quite often. Oh and see that old thermometer? It was here on the back porch when we bought our cottage. It was from some company that no longer exists. Their phone number was 34521 ~ long before prefixes were added. I hung it here because it seems to belong!

A sweet vintage laundry bag. Love it!!

An old pie safe filled with quilts ~ readily available in case we want to grab one to take out to the hammock for an afternoon nap.

David put up these shelves for me to store essentials like vintage picnic baskets ...

and vintage picnic tins ...

And detergent and cleaning products. That's it for today. I'm off to visit Marty for Table Top Tuesday!!

Bentley wants you all to know that he loves to take naps in the hammock too, but is not very fond of baths!!

Cozy & Red Backyard Camping

I'm getting in touch with my inner child by setting up a backyard camping adventure. It's my cottage style of camping of course complete with an old quilt strung up between two trees. Of course there are comfy pillows (one in red of course!) and a vintage coffee pot on the campfire.

Red cowgirl boots are outside of the tent. Cute vintage style camp lights from Pottery Barn and a red lantern too. They are lit already because the sun is slowly sinking in the west and Bentley and I will be getting ready to settle in for the night.

It's such a beautiful evening and I'm thinking about the tent I used to have in the backyard when I was a young girl. What happy memories.

While Bentley and I kick back and enjoy the stars overhead be sure to visit some of our friends ...

Sue's Rednesday at It's a Very Cherry World and Susan the Southern Day Dreamer for her Outdoor Wednesday.

Say goodnight Bentley!!

Amish Mini Quilt on My Table Top

I love quilts. My mother-in-law loves them too. Shortly after my husband and I were married she made this lovely mini quilt for me. It is patterned after an Amish quilt that she once saw. I love the bold colors and it's truly a work of art.

There is one intentional flaw in the quilt. She told me that Amish women intentionally place one flaw in their quilts because they believe that only God is perfect. Flaw or no flaw, this little quilt is a perfect treasure to me. Please stop by and visit Marty's perfectly wonderful blog A Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday.

Speaking of perfection ... little Bentley is napping close by as I post. To me he is absolute perfection!!
