Farm Fresh Kitchen Minis

I am getting ready to put together my dollhouse and of course,
I immediately start thinking about decorating.   The house isn't
even constructed, but I am trying to decide on the colors for the
kitchen.  I have thought about a shabby chic kitchen with lots
of soft pinks and greens.  Then I started to think about a farmhouse
kitchen with a red and white color scheme.

So I bought some polymer clay and shaped, baked and painted my own
dishes in red and white.  I made a little pie plate and some tea towels too.
Oh and I made a little country sign for the top of the hutch.

While I like the red and white, I am still not certain.  What do you
think I should do?

I can tell you one thing for sure ...
I had lots of fun creating today!

Happily Joining ~

Bentley was very mad today when a squirrel was pulling
stuffing out of one the the chairs on our front porch to
use in her nest.  I think I'm going to put out some nesting
material that I won't mind her using.

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

  3. Oh yes ! I have a dollhouse and appreciate miniatures and this is a great idea. I like what you have posted and maybe will decide to do my own miniature take on decorating, using my doll house to decorate in ways I am unable to in my life-size home.

  6. I can't get enough of your mini posts. Love the red. Over the weekend, I made kitchen shadowbox using miniature furniture and a cigar box. I'm addicted to minis.

  7. Oh my all of your little minis are just adorable. I love the red & white and shabby chic would be just as wonderful. Make both and swap them out when your little mini house is built ~ oh my, decisions, decisions, ~ Does Bentley have a favourite?
I know you will have fun creating. You are so talented ~

  8. So darling! How can you go wrong with red and white? It would be fun to get lost in that beautiful tiny world. Love the little sign.

  9. OH my gosh I love it! You have me thinking and wanting to decorate mini too. My sister in law just gave me a tiny cabinet and red and white goodies to go in it. I need to pull it out and start decorating. I love it. What if you leave the hutch white, make dishes in both color schemes. Use the pink and soft colors for spring, switch out the dishes and little towels for summer, Christmas...hmmmm just an idea. You will have to make more goodies, but it might be fun to have both. And you could store the extra little dishes in the cupboard like a real china hutch! Have you been over to Cindy's Cottage? Here is a url to copy and paste to go to her pinterest page of mini's...there are some adorable ideas for you...you know in the future when you have time for more creating your little hutch goodies!

  11. Sweet sweet sweet!! I'd love a doll house but I'd probably spend all my time in it and do nothing in the real house!! When I was young, I loved making things for my doll house much more than actually playing with it!

  24. That little hutch is adorable. I'd go with the red and white-but that's just me. In my dollhouse, I did a red and white kitchen and the downstairs sweet shoppe was pink and red. The best of both worlds. Have fun!
